Carrying Lily

Just saw this thread. I'm sending Lily good thoughts for a speedy recovery! Injuries are scary at any age, but especially for one so young. Best wishes!

Still. It was beyond nice. I'm going to make you a sheath. Pick a knife. You have a Ladyfinger? I have one done with a clip. It'd fit a Ladyfinger perfectly. I use the same pattern on my KSF Recluse. Maybe you want a Fiddleback sheath for one of those.

Thanks! I imagine you have enough on your hands right now between Blade and the kids. Between JRE, KSF, and Talfuchre, all my Fiddlebacks have pants right now. I AM planning on getting a Recluse, though, and I've decided that the clip sheath really is the most versatile. :) Those two you made in the last batch are beautiful! Really sweet.

What did Bones say about Lily's leg, still doing OK?

So far so good. Big sigh of relief.

I was right there with you , brother when you were describing the scene. I have a three year old too and ol' dad would have flipped out in that situation.:o
You did good, man and I'm glad to hear she's on the mend. Poor little booger. Man I hate it when they suffer, you can't take it away and that hurts my heart.
Good job, Dad. I'd say you're her hero now and probably were before.

Its funny. The next day she was all sweet and thanked me for carrying her out of there. Man, that was nice.

I have not picked up my 5 year old in a week, because I threw out my back on Monday. I was just wondering what I would do if he got hurt. I picked up my 2 month old out of his crib today, and that almost did it for me. Really don't realize how weak you are when your back goes out (When you can bench press 350lbs, and can't put your own shoes and sock on when it is time to go to work).

I think this is a testament to how intelligently God designed us. In these types of situations, adrenaline kicks in providing greater strength, enhanced focus and indifference to pain. In Andy's situation this resulted in the ability to pick Lily up despite having a bum back as well as the stability to negotiate tricky terrain. That isn't to say that he wasn't sore as hell the next day because he probably was, but it enabled him to deal with the situation at hand nonetheless. Another  for the man upstairs.

Glad to hear she is perking up and doing well.

Bailey turned 1 on Saturday and every little bump, scratch or bruise pains me inside. She had to have a CT scan a couple of weeks ago because the doctor was mildly concerned that her sutures may be closing prematurely. Holding her down so that they could do the scan was one of the most difficult things I've ever done. Knowing I couldn't do anything to make her more comfortable was painful, but not near as bad as the look in her eyes like Daddy was not coming to the rescue. Fortunately it only took about 10 minutes of her screaming to the top of her lungs and the scan was complete. Even more fortunate is that everything is fine with her sutures.

Well after a few minutes of screaming peek-a-boo, it's obvious to me that she didn't break her funny bone. Little miss leg-in-a-cast was being super silly and energetic today. It's amazing to me how kids can bounce back like that.

Ok I saw you got me on the old thread... Andy you are breaking the internet :)
