Carrying Multiple Knives

I carry 2 with me. One for SD/Hard use, and a sheeple friendly one. When I walk at night I change the sheeple one out for a 2nd SD oriented folder/small fixed. (My main edc is a HD-7, with my sheeple knife being a sog twitch or delica. My 2nd SD blade will be a waved endura in a custom sheath on a mercharness :) ) I switch things up sometimes just for variety.

Hey Guys...

Firas

Thanks dude..:)
Hope you like that Speed Dialer.. :)

Usually I carry two, sometimes 3,, for some reason tonight I went to Cub Scouts with my boy and realized I was packing 6 knives on me.. :)

Swamp Warden, Buck/Strider Military, Spyderco Waved Endura in a Mercharness/Speed Dialer.

O/ST Kiradashi, O/ST Key-Ridashi on my keys and a SAK Classic on my Wife's keys.

Not to mention my Jeff Diotte Humpback, Battle Mistress and a Newt Livesay in the truck...

Not really all that abnormal for me... :)

I tried carrying just the Spyderco Military for 30 days back in October/November 07.
One knife did pretty much everything that needed doing, but I still prefer the 5-7 knives I usually carry. It makes more sense to use specific knives for specific tasks rather than having one do everything moderately well.
I guess four is the minimum, the primary EDC, the pocket razor, the beater, and the blade on the multi-tool is just an incidental.

Then you have the extra two or three that are just there for variety.

A one handed knife for convenience and a multi-tool for variety. I don't loan out my blades or worry about what people will say about them, so no backups needed in the consideration of others. Don't want to carry something to not use it, and every knife should be sharp, so no redundancy there either.

I (now) carry three.

1. (the latest EDC) is a slip joint knife used for food. Plus, it's great to keep the sheeple quiet most of the time.

2. A SAK--used for those 'dirty jobs' and for the extra tools.

3. some 4 inch or more folder--sometimes you just need a bigger knife

i seem to have 2-3 on me at all time.
i have a spyderco uk pen knife and a classic sd sak the other knife i add in is a leatherman sideclip

I've got 2 usually. The first is a Vic Ranger SAK in my left pocket for the tools, which I do use, and for stuff where I might need to beat up a cheaper blade. My right pocket has whatever the EDC is for the day: Robin, Alpha Dorado, Native, U2. I might pick up a little slip joint for the sheeple.

Oh, and I don't use clips at work or at church, but I don't mind it anywhere else. I just have to remember to put it in the pocket at work. So, work usually gets the Alpha Dorado or U2.

I pretty much use the clip everywhere. Cool thing about my church is most of the people aren't sheeple - not real knife knuts either, but definately not scared of knives.

For me its usually a multi ( either a Leatherman Charge Ti or a Vic. Spirit ) , an a Strider PT . I will sometimes carry a third , but only in special circumstances .

Remember the old boy scout moto , two is one , and one is none .

Good question! In left (strongside) front, I have a Vic Classic (tweezers, scissors, keys) and a Spyderco Ladybug for when I need something sheeple-friendly and sharp. (say what you will about AUS6, but this little one is nice and pointy and a great grind).

In my backpack (under my desk at work) I keep a Vic Spirit multitool. In summer, I also have a bike multitool for the commute. Aside from the blade, much of the Vic multitool is redundant with the bike tool.

The past week, I've been pocket carrying a Bark River Little Creek to work. I've been curious about the "fixed blade pocketknife" concept for a while but just hadn't found the right one. It sure is sweet!

Whenever I get a new knife, folder or fixed, I'll usually carry it for a day or two just because I'm excited about it.

Weekends, though, it's usually the Murray Carter neck knife, and Bob Dozier on horizontal belt kydex.

or is it just for the love of knives?
Yeah, past the Vic Classic, this is pretty much it.

Para Military- Main blade.
CRK&T Mo'skeeter- utility cutting.
prySTR- for prying, utility.
I'm all set with these three.

I usually have a Spyderco Cricket carried as a money clip and one medium sized folder from among many. The Mini-Manix or Buck Strider Tarani have been in the pocket this week.

I'm in my car a lot and also carry a Leatherman Surge in a backpack, plus a Swiss Army knife in the first aid kit (not sure which - Tinker?). Same pack has a Becker TacTool.

I carry three most of the time.

Spyderco police for clean utilitarian tasks such as peeling apples, personal grooming opening packages etc.

Katz cheetah for dirty utilitarian tasks such as scraping battery posts etc.

Fixed blade for the serious cutting duties such as cutting brush, hacking, chopping etc.

Leatherman Wave on belt, 7 days a week. Will add a folder clipped in pocket on the weekends. This will either be a BM 520, CRKT Ryan Model 7, Spyderco Captain, or Spyderco Endura 4. Might also throw in my SAK Camper in a pocket and clip my RAT-3 in one of my boots.

- Spyderco Military as my back-up
- a sheeple-compliant Cricket clipped inside my wallet
- Vic Swiss Tool Spirit on the belt

the main edc rotates on a daily basis: today I have a Benchmade 710

EDC: I carry 2...a spyderco fully serrated native & either ZT0200 or Al Mar SERE 2000(plain edge)

When camping or hunting,I'll carry those 2 plus a fixed blade(6" blade) & a small hatchet & a leatherman multitool.

weekdays, a folder and always a LM Core
weekends, a folder and sometimes a fixed blade

Looks like several people carry an extra knife to loan out if asked. That is sorta why I carry an extra with me. Those times do not arise very often, as a matter of fact it's been 6 months or more since anyone said, "let me borrow a knife....I know you got one.":D I still carry though so that 1. I have a small knife that does not look dangerous, 2. I have a knife to loan out if asked. Though for the past month or so that knife has been a ProTech Runt2. I will probably start carrying my Case Gunstock pattern again as I really like this pattern.

As far as my other knife goes I carry a large single blade locking folder with a deep carry clip, in other words, a Tactical Folder. I rarely ever use it and when I do pull it out it is to look at it and play with it a little, man that is a loaded statement! I guess I carry a large folder like this because 1. I can. 2. It's like Linus and his blanket as it is a security thing for me. 3. Just in case someone wants to pull out a knife for folks to see, I can pull out mine to show also. 4. I simply love knives and am a knife nut......how else do you explain it!! My carry for the past week has been my newest one, a ZT0500 MUDD, a very good knife.
