Carrying oil for your knife.

If you have a Carbon steel folder, you may need an oiler for the joints as well as an oily rag to wipe down the blade(s). The G.I. M-1 Carbine oiler is quite compact.View attachment 1868577
That's cool  The Boker oil I posted earlier has a needle oiler integrated into the bottle, and they also do an 'oil pen', which I also use, which is a needle-oiler

I don’t carry any oil on me at all. In my pickup toolbox I have oil , the shop, engine room, at home just about anywhere I go there’s some kind of oil available so there’s absolutely no reason for me to carry oil. Also most of my working and edc knives are stainless and don't need to be oiled for reasons of corrosion or rust. I put a drop in the pivot area for smooth action and that’s good for a several weeks or more.
If I had a knife that needed oil that often to be useful I’d get rid of it and get a good one that’s tough enough to stay in working order. I’ll bet there’s some knives out there that never get oiled and still working great.

Besides my 2 or 3 short camping trips a year lately, I am home each night, so no need to carry oil, even if I get into something wet or dirty during the day.

I do have a couple of ounces of vegetable oil in the bag with my camp cooking supplies, which I could oil my knife with if needed I suppose, when out.
