ALOX SAKs are almost always part of my EDC choices:

Couple of more traditional:

I like to carry the older Pioneers with the old style red cross, and with the brass pins and liners. I also rotate between a Tinker, Spartan, Alox Cadet, Farmer, Explorer, and a Climber. I would consider any of the Swiss army knives as good basic 'camp' knives.

Not one that I carry as it is my 'shelf queen', but here is a limited 2010 Damascus (Damasteel) Pioneer...

This is the pattern I grew up with. The Ulster BSA/Camper.

Modified Ulster Camper by Pinnah, on Flickr

Of the traditional pocket knife size, this is the least frustrating blade shape for me. Just love it.

Mine mostly sit on my work benches now where they get used as intended. Love this blade for scoring cuts and the awl is handy in the shop.

I currently don't carry mine EDC any longer as I've found another combination that does more for me. But this pattern definitely holds a very dear place in my heart.

Camillus

Col. Coon (Queen)

Camillus Cub Scout. My first knife.

Various SAKs. Top to bottom: Mini Champ, Climber, Farmer, Pioneer, Alox Classic.

Definitely one of my favorite patterns.

Like pinnah, I don't carry mine anymore, but at 50 years of age, it still works on my bench, every week.

I did just order my first SAK (believe it or not!), an Alox Electrician, mainly because it has the sheepfoot secondary blade.

Every day for about 3 years, except now I drive a Toyota, and carry a Samsung Galaxy S3.

And various Vic Swiss Army knives through the years, favorites being the farmer, rucksack, and director.

Almost forgot Kastor/Camillus

More often than not lately I have been carrying either this Huburtus that I recieved recently from Humppa, thank you sir.

This Kamp King that I got from CJZ. Once again, thank you sir.

I love these knives. If I was going to collect one pattern it would be the scout.

No problem! :)

I occasionally carry an Alox Soldier or Super Tinker. I had a green sheath like that! It was my favorite way to carry my SAK. I think I bought it in the late 80s from a store called Herters. It eventually came apart.

The horizontal belt sheath called a Suisse Pac...this was the only one that didn't burn in the fire. I carried them in my sporting goods store in the early 80's. Loved them and had about 10 put back in various colors. This one was in a drawer at my house out in West Texas because the velcro had come un-sewn and I was going to fix it. Can find no trace online that they ever existed and you are the first guy to remember them.

Suisse Pac, that definitely rings a bell. Man, I can still remember the guy at the Herters store taking it out of the case and explaining the virtues of the horizontal sheath. I thought it odd that it was green, but bought it anyway. That was ~ 25 years ago and I was about 13. I used it primarily when on Boy Scout outings

I have one. I never knew they had a name. A few years ago I went to a warehouse sale where Victorinox was selling off a random selection of their products, including some knives. I bought a Vic Adventurer that came with one of these sheaths (no box or documentation). Mine is black and sized for the 111mm models, about 150mm (6") long. Were they an official Vic product? Mine has no markings at all.

As I recall, the Suisse Pacs were carried first by Cuticutt (SP) and then by Swiss Army USA in their catalogs but I do not know if it was an official licensed product. I assumed it was but then things weren't as exclusively branded as much as today. Mine has a small white tag on the back. The very early ones were smooth nylon pack cloth but later they looked more like a cordura weave texture. The ones I bought/stocked were for the 91mm and would fit a Champion sized knife. Never saw one 6 inches long!

Wish they still made them...I would be buying a bunch to store knives in!!!

I had red, dark blue and green ones. They were great...you could carry a big fat SAK on your belt and never really feel it at all!!!!
