My wife just called me crazy for carrying 3 knives on me today. We went to a family picnic in a public park. I was carrying a small single blade Swiss army folding knife. A spyderco endura 4 in a nylon pouch on my belt and my zt 0562 clipped in my right pocket.

That's pretty much what I carried to church today. However, I never pull my ZT out as folks freak out.

Only 3? Where are the fixed blade belt knife, the heavy duty folder, the machete and the boot knife?:D

I always carry at least two: a pocket multitool and a folder. Sometimes I'll add a fixed blade or a larger multitool to my belt if I feel the need. Def not too many!

I carry two folders and two fixed on me at all times on my persons. Then another 5 fixed blades and two folders and a multi tool in my EDC bag.

And they thought 3 was alot... hah.

I pretty much only ever carry 1, but family picnic? I would have brought my usual EDC along with an opinel for cutting food

I did the same thing, and then decided to carry one knife for 6 months, only one. and it is ....gasp...a traditional slip joint, a GEC 42 trapper. put away my Benchmade Autos I was carrying and wanted to see what it was like to have just one knife. interesting experiment so far. I went from feeling way unprepared to feeling intimately attached to my knife a month in to this experiment. YMMV

Just don't advertise how many you are carrying.
Just say "A don't ask/don't tell policy is now in place regarding this topic, thanks for your interest." LOL kidding of course (sort of)

For me that's a bit much. I never carry more than 1 blade, but it never hurts to have extra, except being called out by loved ones hehe.
My buddy carries 2, and I make fin of him for it but he doesn't care. Do you what you got to do.

Gees, you're really part of that 2 is 1 and one is none crowd huh? LOL

I EDC one folder that does it all, and one small fixed blade. On my pack is just one larger, more capable fixed blade, one folder and a Mt

when I had the money for it, I had on my at all times (the fixed blade is gone for now until money returns):

-Busse BOSS jack on belt (fixed blade for batoning firewood and other at home wood tasks)
-BM 710 on pocket (edc use folder - mostly boxes)
-crkt stockman (for fine tasks, food prep etc)
-Leatherman charge (for the pliers and bit kit)

total number of edges = 7. I also carry a kershaw nura 3.5 to hand to people when they ask me for a knife, because I don't trust anyone to use my knives for their own safety (they are sharp) or the knives (edges aren't to be used on glass, ceramics, or steel tables... I've had more than one knife damaged by people in that manner)

Overkill? Maybe. I've also always had the tool I needed on me when I've needed it, which is often.

2 is 1 and 1 is none. That's how I justify it to myself anyway.
