Carrying too many knives????

I'm in the one handgun & one folder crowd. Never been in a position where I needed more of either.

I'm one knife edc, two for camping(fixed, folding) 4,5,6 with friends hahaha

I usually carry my SAK Fieldmaster in the coin pocket of my jeans, my kershaw blur or ontario rat 1 in my left pocket and either my para 2 or zt 350 clipped on my right pocket. Left pocket knife for around people, right pocket knife for heavy duty or not around knife-shy people

I often carry two knives. A locking folder and a Victorinox. If If I head out of the city limits it would not be uncommon at all to add a smaller fixed blade like a Mora on a lanyard around my neck so I'm with you OP. However I don't really see the point in carrying an Endura in a belt pouch and a ZT clipped to a pocket. I'd rather have a Leatherman in the pouch.

The only time it's possible to carry too many knives is when you have so many on you at once that their sheer weight and/or bulk makes it impossible for you to walk. Anything short of that is perfectly acceptable. :D

I carry differing geometries. A piercer (Emerson CQC-7), and a slicer (Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Snap folder). That makes sense to me. Not overkill.
Okay fine, sometimes I carry my Boker Infinity ceramic as well. Some tasks like cardboard needn't the sharpest edge as I can save my steel for when they're really needed.

I was denied access to a concert one time (I was already drunk entering) and I had 3 folders on me and didn't think it was a big deal because I'm used to it plus it's in an amphitheater outdoors. The lady got aggressive and called the sheriff over to inspect my "assault weapons" and he was very unconcerned because they were all legal.. At least he thought they were. Ticket keeper said it was private property and that I couldn't enter with a knife or take them to the truck. Since the tickets were free.. my wife and I just left. I always have at least one on me but I think that was the last time I had 3 on me without having a pouch or carrying case..

Since it was a picnic i figured the endura would be good for food prep, fruit etc.

I'm a two multitool and two folder at a minimum kind of guy. Probably should have hyphenated that.

In fairness, though, one multitool (a Leatherman Style for the scissors) and one folder (Spyderco Ladybug ZDP-189) are on my keychain along with a flashlight and miniprybar (which has proven to be utterly useless). I even have a couple of keys on it.

My Skeletool CX is clipped to my left front pocket for the pliers and screwdrivers, which are quite handy even for us hard use tacticool office ninjas.

The big folder (today's is a composite blade Leek) is carry in my right back pocket in case I need to baton a telephone pole for firewood during the current global cooling crisis. You just never know.

I only carry one on me most of the time. But, like another poster said, if I'm going to have food on the go(picnic) then I like to take a second clean knife for cutting food. You have to realize though that most people see 1 as enough. And to some, 1 is too many.

Nah, tell your wife it's very common and perfectly acceptable. And it's why God made cargo shorts/pants.

I have 4 on me most days.

My wife just called me crazy for carrying 3 knives on me today. We went to a family picnic in a public park. I was carrying a small single blade Swiss army folding knife. A spyderco endura 4 in a nylon pouch on my belt and my zt 0562 clipped in my right pocket.
Tell her if you can't have 3 knives then you want 3 women. She'll come around.

Too many knives? What? Who let this guy in here?! LOL

But seriously, I carry two knives, sometimes three, sometimes one if it's just an around-the-house sort of weekend day. My carry usually tends to be a large modern folder paired with either a traditional or a SAK. Sometimes I carry both a traditional AND a SAK. The trad/SAK are for those times when I'm around folks who don't appreciate knives (or I'm cutting something that might abuse a fine edge a bit) and my modern folder usually comes out for heavier cutting tasks, or when I'm around folks who are fine with knives and don't think I'm deploying a weapon.

The question I have is if you need to cut something which one do you use? =)

I'm a one knife kinda guy, myself, but I've recently started carrying 2, because I like a larger folder, but a smaller one can cause less public issues. I'll probably go back to just one at some point though.
