Case Barlow is back

🤞 In the text above the barnboard red bone series, it says "including several that just re-entered production".
What others were out of production? That '87 stockman? I don't see many of those around.

I hope they come out with some more options. I have the red bone on order, but I'd love to get something like the sawcut brown bone in CV that I missed getting in 2019.

That’s what puzzles me. I don’t know the several that they’re talking about, which leads me to believe at least the Barlow is one of them.

I bit when they came out with the cv version a few years back. The saw pattern on the bone was really meh and f&f average. Maybe there is a market for them - ymmv.

I got five of the two blade versions from the last run. One had a little bit of blade play, but the rest were really nice. The edges weren't the best, but I've come to expect that.

The Case barlow with two blades is a very versatile knife.... I have an older version that I like quite a bit.
I do agree, a stag version would be almost impossible to resist. And if it was carbon steel and stag? 👍👍😍

Carbon steel model and I would have a hard time saying no.

Carbon steel with smooth natural bone and I'll buy two.

I sent them an email asking them to just stop with all the stainless. 🤣

I told them the truth, that all I hear online about their tru-sharp is a bunch of apologists who tout it as "adequate" (if "adequate" is all you got, you ain't got much...) and, that no one has been impressed by "surgical" steel since the seventies. 🤣

I informed them that while their "base" may be a bunch of desiccated collectors who refuse to remove their knives from their hermetically sealed display cases for even the most basic cutlery maintenance procedures, that there exists a new breed of traditional knife aficionado who prefer steel that patinas (and even actually *gasp* cuts). 🤣

Furthermore, I related to them that while I applaud their recent use of S35VN - it's no substitute for properly hardened carbon steel in a traditional knife.

They replied, saying that they appreciated my contacting them and that they would pass my suggestions along. I believe that's Case-speak for "get lost, Junior." 🤣🤣🤣

If they'd make a barlow in carbon steel, with no gaps, and with no blade wobble - I'd happily overlook the rounded tips and questionable edges and purchase as many of the available cover options as I could get my greasy mitts on... even at twice the current rate. 😐

My assumption is they are referring to this set the barlow comes in.

They're nice and I'm tempted to get the barlow and the copperlock, but as several people have mentioned I wish they were CV.

I just noticed the purple barnboard version in-stock on a dealer site. I pre-ordered the red one and am still waiting.
