Any thoughts on the new sodbuster that case is releasing? Has amber jigged bone handles with a shield. I know a lot of folks have been wishing that case would bring out a bone handled soddie. The only down side is, I think they are just available in Tru-sharp.

I like the looks of em. I haven't got any quarrels with stainless in general, but find tru-sharp to be decent. Even at that, when it comes to Case, I really like it when I can treat myself to some CV. Heck I bet they could sell a more expensive Sodbuster, with stag handles, maybe in the "Rancher Stag" series paired with CV.

Case also bringing out some new stuff this year. Now I like the new looks of the handle material used in their carhartt lineup too. My local dealer said this is going to be a big year for case; introducing new handle material and patterns. He also stated that gec is making them step it up.

Man they have some nice looking knives coming out! I love the look of that bone Sodbuster Jr but dangit only the regular SB is CV, the Jr is SS! I still may have to have one, that bone looks good and that Granddaddy Barlow....sweet! But alas its SS too...

Found this pic on their website. Looks nice, but I'm not completely sold on it. My black Sodbuster Jr. came a bit rough from the factory and that's fine because it's supposed to. If they're gonna make it pretty with bone covers then I hope it has better finish.

I've never been a fan of the Amber bone. It's nice to see them coming out with more new stuff. If they offered the Sodbuster in Chestnut bone and CV, I would be all over that one...

Aw man..... why not in CV? I'll probably get one, I'm a big fan of the Sodbuster Jr. Still, wish it was CV.

I'd be all over it in CV. Glad they weren't tempted to put a bolster or two on it.

So true in every point of view, Owen.

I really like the look of it and a Case Soddie Jr. in Bone and (!!!) CV steel would make a pretty nice addition for the rotation.

Might be a nice project to swap a CV blade into one.

Alex, I agree. But on the pic posted above the pivot pin doesn´t seem to be a large/wide/broad than on the regular Case Soddies... But it would be interessting to see how it works... ;)

They're a penny shy of a 50-dollar bill. What's not to like? Yep, for now, they're only available in SS - works just as well as their CV. I haven't decided whether or not to pick one up. I've already got several Sod Busters. Still a nice knife all-in-all - worth thinking about.

I like the idea, but they must up the QC on a model like this, it aspires to be something more than the basic Sodbuster. I'm 50/50 on carbon or stainless.

I carry a sod buster as my edc. the amber bone is nice, but imo smooth bone or some type of wood handle would fit the bill a little better.

I like the idea of using bone for covers. I'm not really a fan of the shields on this and the CF version, though. Even if the purpose is to class up the pattern a bit, it just looks out of place to me.
