Case Bose 2016 annual knife?

Tony Bose is the consensus preeminent slipjoint maker in the world. A Google search for "Tony Bose" returned 790K hits, a Google search for "Bob Loveless" returned 530K hits. Counting Case knives with TB (Tony Bose) in the serial number, safe to say Tony's name or initials are on more slipjoints than anyone else on earth. Hundreds of Blade Show enthusiasts enter their name for an opportunity to purchase one of his custom slip joints every year, lucky winners can immediately flip their good fortune for a sweet profit.

Because of the rarity / price of Tony's customs, the annual Case / Bose collaboration knife provides an excellent opportunity to purchase a Tony Bose design with a higher than normal fit, finish, and materials than normally available in a Case.

Standard Case production knives designed by Tony are also popular. I would like to see the swayback jack upgraded to an annual collaboration knife.

So, I guess this means he's pretty good at making a knife, ok, got it.

But what's so special about this guy again? I'm still not getting it. Can you elaborate more, please? [emoji6]

"
Tony Bose: I don't design knives, I bring old knives back from the grave."
Tony's forte is just that; bringing old knives back to life but with all the improvements that modern materials and superior craftsmanship offer."

An excerpt from an interview with "velocipedesalon" with Tony Bose

The patterns of traditional knives have specific purposes and they fulfill their purposes well. In the 1920s Remington had some 900 patterns, a shit load of patterns and all successful. That Zulu knife I made for you has been in great demand ever since you posted it on a forum. That is a pattern Schrade introduced in 1934 and by 1940 discontinued. I revived it because it is a time proven pattern. Traditional knives work.

I can't tell if you're joking around but there's why for me Tom. Superior build quality from his immense talent, bringing back the designs of olde since the 1970's makes Tony Bose legendary :D

It should also be noted that Tony only has one good eye. I believe it was accidentally shot out with an arrow or bb when he was a kid.

Meanehile, BACK to the original topic of this thread, for those who already believe that "Tony Bose is the consensus preeminent slipjoint maker in the world" means something special . . .

It would be appreciated if anyone who hears the announcement could post the information on this thread after it is announced. TIA!

We will know after the 19th. I'm sure Kerry will post some photos when it's appropriate.

So, I've decided that it's the blade options that turn me off of the Coffin Jack. I keep going back and I want to love it, but I just can't. 2014 was a retooled version of 2005, maybe we can get a Coffin Jack with a clip main and Wharncliff secondary :D Bring it on!!

A little birdy told me that Case is introducing five of Tony's patterns in Bonestag and CV this year...

and this is the new Case/Bose Collab for 2016:

It's the old Remington R-1306 pattern. I think "Wilfred Lockback" is a good name for it since Tony resurrected it and that's why we are seeing this pattern being made again, just sayin' :D

Thanks for sharing Top Secret info like this! Definitely liking the lockback and the swayback in stag should be killer!

Cannot wait :) Thanks for the update Kerry. I'd love to see a bullet shield on there but I'm guessing the shields are already set?

Ooooo. I've been keen on some custom bonestag swaybacks I've seen. This might be the breaking point...

Nice! That collaboration knife will definitely be popular knife and will probably also interest folks who typically carry modern knives. It's good to also see more CV on Case regular production Bose patterns.
