This little beauty arrived in the mail today. Case, CV, Jigged chestnut bone, swayback and a wharncliffe blade................... what more could you ask for?
This is probably the best fit and finish of any of my recent Case knives. The main blade was shaving sharp out of the box. I'm very pleased with this one!

Here's the Swayback Jack(3 1/2") with a small Case Texas Jack(3 3/4") and a Case Peanut(2 7/8") for scale.

I'm patiently awaiting my CV Swayback! That looks nice. Enjoy!

Very nice photos! The jigging and color is very nice! I also like the fact this version has no end cap/bolster. Looks much better without it IMO. Congratulations on a fine acquisition!

My chestnut swayback arrived yesterday, and I spent the whole day today giving it a workout. My wife was sick, so I tool the day off from work and took care of our son all day while she rested. We hung out in the park most of the afternoon, and I spent a good bit of time whittling with the swayback. It's a great whittlin' knife- held its edge well. This evening I started a patina with some cranberry juice, and now she's lookin' good.

Case is doing a really good job with these swaybacks. The chestnut is actually my second- I've had the red stag version for a while. I think I like the chestnut better- I dig the carbon steel. A note about the carbon- it seems different than Case's usual CV. I've sharpened many a Case CV blade in my day, and the steel on my new swayback seems much harder than what I'm used to. It's much more difficult to sharpen than Case CV usually is. It seems almost like it has been heat-treated differently- it feels like D2 when you're sharpening it. Has anyone else noticed this?

My Chestnut-jigged bone Swayback arrived today. I don't officially take possession of it until tomorrow since it is a Valentine's Day present from my wife. I did look it over and can tell you the quality is much higher than any of my other recent Case purchases. The springs lie flush is all 3 positions, the blades have mirror finishes, the rivets were all properly finished, and to the right height. The blades are nice and tight, and spring tension seems right for a knife of this size. Overall, I'm extremely pleased, can't fault it in any way, and can't wait to open it officially tomorrow. Both blades easily shaved out of the box. Each had a slight burr, but that will strop right off tomorrow morning.:thumbup:

Got mine when I came home from work today. It is really nice. Very good fit and finish, great snap and half stop and nice looking bone. I touched blades up on ceramic stone and they are nice and sharp. I am really impressed. Should be a good all around knife.

That's a good looking knife! I'm definitely going to have to pick one of these up. Thanks for the reviews.

I love the looks of the swayback. It's probably one of the best looking knives they make in my opinion.

Beautiful! I've been enjoying my bermuda green ss for a while! Might have to pick one up!

I wish you wouldn't have posted those pictures! Now that I've seen how good it looks, I'm going to have to order one for myself:D.

That looks great.. The Chestnut is very nice looking. I think Chestnut with the CV is going to be a big seller for Case...
