I got mine in today!!!! What a nice little knife. there is nothing to like about this knife. Case did a great job on this baby.

I just bought one from knife works. From all the good reports I've read here it just might give my gec #25 barlow some competition for watch pocket edc duty.

Those are some great pics, but I almost wish I didn't see this thread.
I have one of these and one of the stainless sngle blade in navy blue with the red sheild coming in. Both should be here Tuesday, and now Tuesday seems like such a long time to wait.

I officially opened my Valentine's present today. As I examine it more carefully than yesterday, I can't find fault with it. It is a solid, tight little knife. Case hit a homerun with this. Maybe they knew this would play to the traditional crowd, but everything from the CV to the old-school Chestnut bone to the mirror finish to the robust construction--this knife was designed to please knuts like us.

Augustus,

Is this a new type of palette knife?
Lovely knife with lovely pictures.
Thanks for them.
Great color!!
And the Chestnut....

(I paint watercolors)

Nice knife!
I like it alot.
Question I have not spent that sort of money on a Case.
It is getting close to the cost of a Schatt & Morgan or Dan Burke/Queen colab.
Is it up there in quality also?

The Texas Jack is also nice.
How big is it?
Could you measure length of the main clip?
Yes, I am also looking in to that.

Regards

Mine came in the mail yesterday and I'm carrying it today. The blade was sharp but a bit rough, a quick trip through the sharpmaker fixed that up. I love that the scales are darker than they appeared in the sales photos!

I carried it last night and today and can't stop looking at the darn thing. The chestnut, brass and polished steel color are very nice to look at. It is smaller than the stockman but it is a great little knife.

I have been carring mine since it arrived Friday. I think it is the best finished Case I have. The only real issue that I had was the grind on the Pen blade, it was really rough. I spent ten minutes on the stones and it looks great. I like the size and the blade combination.

Neeman,

Texas Jack is a must have CASE cv knife, if only they would produce THAT in Chestnut bone too:D

It's a shade under 9cms and the main clip-blade is 6.5cms

Regards W

That Chestnut bone is something.....

Just to add my voice to the continuring accolades:

Mine came today, and it is outstanding. Nicest newer case I've seen, hands down. I hope this is indicative of the quality we can expect from Case going forward. I've been actually trying to find a flaw, and can't. the jigging is perfiect, bone is dyed deeply and evenly, pins are finished perfectly, action is strong but not too stiff, no blade play at all, springs flush in open and closed position -- I could go on. I'm going to have to check out a few more, since chestnut and CV is my favorite combination.

If you call it a flaw, about the only thing is both blades had a substantial burr, but stropping on cardboard was all it took to remove it and after that both blades were wicked sharp.

Awesome knife!

I hope somebody at Case reads this thread. They're making folks happy!

I hope so too. One thing I noticed about the Chestnut--all of the reported knives reported here, including my own, are much darker than the Case web photo the knifesellers are using. That's a huge plus--the dark Chestnut is stunning and it reminds me of desirable vintage knives.

The light Chestnut in the photos looks kind of cheesy, but the knife in real life is much more handsome.

Last night I took my bevels below 15 degrees. I plan to touch it up with the Sharpmaker at the 30-degree (15-degree per side) setting for quick resharpening. It's slicing my recycled corrugated like buttah, with the faintest of whispers! :D I really like having a main Wharnecliffe blade. This one is thinner than the Seahorse Whittler, so it slices even better.

The shape of the handle makes it superlative for paring fruit. It fits my hand better than any other, including kitchen knives, for this task. Thank you Case, and thank you Tony Bose!

balh, blah, blah...... I just got my Queen teardrop jack with d2, now the anticipation of a possible case knife has come to light! boy will the wife be mad when I order one of these.... are they only available at shepherd hills???

btw, the queen is really, really nice. my 1st d2 blade, slightly larger than I thought it would be, but that's the only flaw I can find. taking it to work tonight!!!!!

I got mine in from knifeworks today! It looks like case is on a winning streak with this one. Absolutely no play. Beautifully put together. The sizing on this knife is absolutely perfect, not too small at all. This chestnut bone is some of the nicest scales I've ever seen. I'm eyeballing the chestnut stockman now. They do a great stockman pattern - one of my all time favorites. Anyway, great job Case and Tony!

I know this won't help with you slippies knife addiction Capt but I have the stockman you speak of and all I can say is buy, buy, buy it! It also looks better in person. I think I need another swayback, but just as a back up.
