Case quality (recent)

That's cool, here are some probable public responses for your Military.
"Why do you even need something that big?"
"Is that even legal?"
"Are you planning on sticking someone today?"
Mutters,"what a weirdo, probably has an underground bunker at home":D

My only Case (from 2001) had weak, mushy snap on the blades, and the backspring on the main blade wasn't flush when it was open.

I know this is all in fun, "tongue in cheek" as it were. Let's just keep in mind that the best way to get folks into the traditional camp, is to acknowledge there is a place for all the different knife preferences. It's usually how we act that elicits the negative knife comments.

Sorry for the soapbox moment. Carry on!:)

> it comes very close to having completely sunk

yes that Texas jack has nicely sunken joints

> (as does my 6220 peanut, 32087 pen, and 62109W mini copperhead).

Please post photos of those sunken joints

My peanut and Slimline do not have sunken joints, they are sharp and snag my finger. I resorted to stoning them.

I would like my peanut and slimline better if they did have sunken joints

Here you go Jon. Not as deeply sunk as on the Texas jack, but not nearly as high as on the barlow, and none are sharp.

The clip is lower than the pen on the 32087 pen:

Mini copperhead, again pen slightly higher:

Both blades on the peanut are about the same:

What about GEC? They make a mighty fine knife...their patterns are on the large side though.

I love GEC. They are my favorite. I own Queen, S&M, and one case (though I have shopped for Case at the dealer, and Buck slipjoints too for that matter).

The F&F of GEC is a lot better than the others. But they are aslo more expensive.

thanks! the clip on the Pen Knife and the both blades on the mini copperhead look nice and close to flush.

I dont consider the joints on the peanut flush

here is another peanut, not mine.. note the joints are also proud

I am sorry to have come across as not liking modern knives, as I am a solid believer in a two knife EDC, one traditional and one modern. I don't like when people think that tactical knives are the best, or believe that modern knives are unnecessary toys. I was just saying that those are probable public responses because Militarys are large and tactical looking, and scary to non knife people. I am not making fun of modern knives, but of the sheeple.

I too am trying not to come across as snappy or in any bad way, merely letting you know my original intent.
All the best:eagerness:,
Connor
