I've posted previously about sending my Buck 301 in for service because of blade play. I didn't mention in that thread that I also sent a Case Peanut in for the same reason. I didn't mention it because the blade movement on the Peanut was so slight as to be almost imperceptible to all except the extremely neurotic (me). I really probably shouldn't have, but based on the fact that my other Case knives have no movement at all, I sent it in. It went out in the mail last Tuesday, and it was returned to me by UPS ground, today (9 days). I do live in PA, but I was very pleased by the fast service and really expected it to take longer. This new Peanut is a tight as can be, with no movement at all. The fit and finish are excellent. Everything is centered nicely, with nice snaps to the blades. For some reason, I find these brown "working" line Case knives very pleasing to the eye.

Very happy with my experience with Case warranty service.:)

I've only used Case service a couple times. Never for product failure, kind of like you ( I'm picky ). They are great

So I "assume" that Case sent you a different knife than the 1 you sent in for repair?

Yes, comparing it to a picture I had of the knife (and a couple of details that I remember), it does appears to be a new knife. Since the other had no sentimental value, I'm glad they just replaced it.

The other was made very nicely though also, except for the slight movement.

This is re-assuring, but I haven't (yet) needed to use their service and being outside the US I'm dubious of sending stuff in.That said, Buck treated me very well all in all.

Glad your experience was better than mine. I sent a Case saddlehorn in because the blade was horribly wobbly. 7 weeks later, I get the same knife back, and it wasn't loose anymore, but the clip blade now rubs the brass liner, scratching the blade. I gave it to my (then) 7 year old as his 2nd knife. Coupled with cheaper build quality than what I grew up with, I said I'd never buy another Case.
