Case slimline trapper 61048

I wasn't sure I'd like the pattern but I bought one in yellow Delrin just to try it out. Turned out that I really liked it. Then I lost it out of a horizontal sheath because it was too slim for a tight fit. I will pick up another one sometime. Wouldn't mind finding one in pocket worn old red bone or maybe with Winterbottom jigging.

Ive tried to like this pattern in the past since I have a particular fondness for single blade trappers. In terms of slim line trappers go, this one was too slim for me.

A few of the Case versions have slipped by over the last few years that I should have snagged. The bare-head old red bones seem to be gone, as well as the black G-10’s from a couple of years ago. I think my current favorite may be this Molasses Bone (not my photo):

Yup. About 48 hours after getting the brown jigged delrin, I got the yeller handled one in cv. That exhausts the variety I can buy in the stores around me. Now I’ll have to buy online and hope for the best. Lol

I had to put it in a vise to tighten the pivot ever so slightly (just a little bit of blade wobble not worth sending it back for), and now it’s great :)
I can’t seem to figure out how to post pics from my iPhone yet, so no eye candy. Hopefully I’ll figure it out eventually.

Bigger than I've been headed with pocket knives lately, but I quite like my slimline trapper.
Lost it for most of the year inside my recliner and recently found it.

I hade a Case trapper I had lost for several years until I found it in my recliner. It had stuck on the frame instead of falling all the way through.

I shook the heck out of my recliner when I lost it because I was sure that's where it was, but It had found it's way inside the inner structure of the chair.

I'm glad I got mine back too, because I lucked out on this one.
I've seen a number of them that didn't open perfectly parallel, and that's one of the imperfections I can't live with.

That is a fine purchase. I have 3 myself. I thought it was "The One", sadly not so. Very handy to have around though and I do carry mine a fair bit. I think if I went ahead and bought one in a nice bone I would probably attach myself to the pattern once again. Hmmm.... Molasses bone......Dang it...!
