Case Sod Buster.. wish I would have checked it out sooner

I have a Case CV sodbuster jr. like the ones already posted. Mr. Keith Johnson makes a pretty fine custom version. Mine has a modified blade shape and I like it a lot.

Hmm, never seen an avocado pit cut clean through like that. That must be a sharp soddie.

I don't know how many I've had over the years, traded back and forth, given away, and so on.

They are a classic, and very useful.

They tend to be my "hard use" knife.

I carry one coon hunting when it isn't fur season. The big ones are too big for skinning, but they are good for cutting switches, whittling walking sticks. or general cutting chores.

And with their big, bright yellow covers, they are easy to see if you drop them at night.

That thin red bulldog looks nice.

Definitely nice knife, indeed. But the written over blade kills the deal... The Case navy blue Sodbuster Sr. still wins (although that blue isn't exactly what one expects from such a knife...). While Case offers so many beautiful scale/colour options, the Sodbuster Sr. seems to be sort of a stepchild. Sad...

Leather for the soddie. At 20 bucks, you'll be hard pressed to find a better product.

As an aside, The pic depicts the great difference between an amateur and a professional. I made the one on left out of a seatbelt 25-30 years ago. I just received the two sheaths on right last week.

Leghog, Nice scabbard for the Soddie! I was able to read the maker's stamp on there and am checking it out now. Just ordered a yellow Case Soddie Jr and this is perfect!
