Interesting. I'll have to give it a hard pass, however. I prefer a large (4 inch plus closed*) stockman; not a medium. The mediums just don't feel right in my hand. While I  know they aren't, the blades look ... "flimsy"? ... for lack of abetter term, a better term ... to my old eyes.

I'm undecided on the holey blades. At fist I thought they might be to make the knife lefty friendly, but on closer look the holes n the Spey and sheepsfoot may be little more accessable than nail nicks. They must be intended for one hand opening A selling point for some, I suppose, but something I personally haven't needed ... yet ...

At least Zippo/Case resisted the temptation to drill and tap the four bolsters for a hotspot causing reversible tip up or tip down clip. 👍

*Yes. If someone other than Frost/Master Cutlery/Bud K , et-al came out with an 8 to 10 inch closed traditional slipjoint three blade stockman with 440A or 420HC blades (with a good heat treat and edge geometry, of course) for $6.⁰⁰ ~ $7.⁰⁰ an inch or less, I'd probably save up and go over my per knife cost comfort limit again.

According to the website up in the hills, it's 4 1/8" closed. I think that qualifies it as large, unless I'm mistaken....

oops.... that's a trapper.... you were looking for a large stockman..... reading is fundamental....

Don't fancy those holes at all...ugly on what is a compact and narrow bladed knife. Good thing the steel is tough and hard, otherwise with sharpening the Master blade you'd soon encounter the hole....

Give me the nail nicks, CV/carbon or their usual stainless (as ground) - better suited and maybe cheaper?

It seems like Case is trying hard to stay relevant, but is completely tone-deaf. I can’t imagine too many traditional knife fans liking this (because of the holes), and I don‘t think you can just slap some super steel with holes on a stockman and expect modern knife lovers to want to buy it. It’s like they made a “modern traditional”, but combined the features each camp hates the most about the other.

Im in total agreement here. They could start a premium line and make something similar to the lionsteel CKs, JKs series or the Jackwolf knives

Keep em around 150 and they probably sell the bejeezus out of them

Or have a line similar to the bose premium but not 500.

I can appreciate them making a fully traditional knife with upgraded steel, rather than making a modern knife "look" traditional.
The holes in the Stockman blades don't make sense, the clip blade and secondary blades are super narrow, too narrow to put a hole in.
The Trapper is better, at least it has enough blade width to stand up to a hole. I went ahead and ordered one to see for myself.

I picked up a Stockman. I'll reserve judgement 'til I have it in hand. The Burnt Amber/Crandall with brushed NS bolsters and S35vn made me bite. I'll probably be able to live with it as long as function isn't compromised.
