Case Sway Back CV (update with knife arrival)

Is apple eating part of the official patina process? :-P

I really want to get the SBJ in chestnut bone CV when funds allow. From the sound of things I won't be dissappointed.

Absolutely not! There's nothing official about it, see. Because if it were an "official process," that would indicate that the apple eater is somehow trying to force a patina on the knife, to encourage the dreaded pre-patina! And we all know only posers and wannabees do that. Nope, we just love apples. :D

I think for anyone who does not own one, it should immediately move to the top of the list into the position called "NEXT"!!!

My Sway Back CV showed up in the mail this week. I'm just starting to more over to traditionals from mainly Sebenzas. First thought is how well this one is made, especially for the price! I can't seem to put it down..... so much so that I already have a small nick in my finger from the tip catching my skin :)
Out of the box sharpness was so-so. It cut well but was not shaving sharp on the main blade. Instead of messing around I broke out my Edge Pro and put a 18 degree edge up to 600 grit with a 20 degree micro-bevel. Now I could shave my face with it and is very easy to touch up. This knife is going to see tons of pocket time.

Great to hear you got your knife. Pictures would be nice of course. That little knife should ride in your pocket un-noticed. Good choice.

I've been eyeing to get one for a while now, but I think this thread officially convinced me to get one.

Not a real good picture but this is after I reprofiled the main blade with my Edge Pro. Really used this knife a lot this weekend. Fits perfectly in my watch pocket of my jeans.
