Case Trappers

Thank you, friend. I appreciate you saying that

At the time I did not know what I had, it was a gift from a fatherly mentor and friend. It was new old stock, unused. In hindsight I sometimes wished I had not used it, but then, aren't knives meant to be used? Underlying guilt had me debate to find donor blades for it and have it rebuilt, yet that would not have been right, either.

I still carry it with much deference.

I think you've done it justice.

I thought a lot about knives and guns as usable heirlooms, and I would much rather have a gun or knife that someone loved, than one that they never used because they didn't like it. When I show folks my Winchester 1892, I get a lot of comments like "too pretty to use" and "I'd be afraid to take it in the woods". But I want my son to inherit a gun that's been used and loved, and his son to get a rifle that looks like a well loved 100 year old Winchester does now.

Love the hobo. I've always wanted one.

Hey thanks man, It arrived yesterday beautiful piece,
I haven't posted for a while, Imgur has changed, all It gives me now is the link.
I was surprised as well the last time I used it. I use postimages.org most of the time, only because it offers a convenient mobile upload.

Here's a 6254 chestnut jigged CV trapper I got last October (thanks, Chris).
The box says it was packaged early in 2022, but the tang stamp, with 9 dots, indicates the knife (or at least the stamped blade, I suppose) was actually made in 2021.

I've mostly used the spey blade:

I'm much more likely to carry a Case mini trapper than a full size '54.

Very classy looking Case knives. Heard they are made in U.S. Sounds nice for a change! Always like that fixed blade hunter model with the griz on the blade.

Yeah it is great to have US-made knives available. And I believe Cases are the 2nd most affordable domestic knives right now. A truly great value!

I have several Trappers but not many made by Case. Here's a 2013 Case/Bose Wharncliffe Trapper collaboration I've sharpened and used to carry often.
The stag on this is pretty nice. You don't see much Case Stag anymore and it was always a crap shoot.
