Here's an old brand. I used to have a Catt. whittler in in ebony. I kick myself now, but back then I'm sure there was something I wanted more. Here's a 22089 that sits in the pocket nice. It has a scale thats been glued and has some pits from rust, but it's crazy sharp and walks and talks like a youngster.

Iff you don't have any Cattaragus' feel free to post up your dogleg jacks.

Steve

Fine bone on that indeed:thumbup:

Not got any of these knives unfortunately, but I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing other examples.

Those are nice Campbell. Interesting how far forward the nail nicks are on the main blades. Bet they open easier that way. Love the bone on both.

Those are fine knives.Anyone know how many types of jigging they had? I've seen a lot of them the line going straight through the middle. Steel bolsters. Those are old.

Let's start by spelling correctly CattaraUgus. Here's a small Catt Swell Center Serpentine Whittler. 3" closed

Catt made some beauties! Glad you get to save them for posterity, Barry!
Best Regards,
Charlie Posterity:D

They really did do a wonderful job with the Bone on all those knives!! I wish they still did bone like that!! It's hard to find knives made like that anymore.
Thanks for sharing.

Jason

Cattaraugus made some unique knives. Although this is only a pen knife, it has a couple of unique features like 6 sided flat bolsters and the thinnest "Indian Trail" Bone handles I've ever seen at 1/16" at the thickest, and half that in the thinner areas. How do they pin handles that thin without cracking? This is a very tight knife with alligator snap. It's 2 11/16 closed. One of my favorites.

Not everyone in the shop could make that knife, Barry. It takes a fine touch. Beauty!!

Those are very, very nice Barry. I really like the crown whittler. Were you able to find out anything about the company name on the blade?

And that pen knife is truly outstanding. I can only imagine how slim and light that must feel.

I only have one, this whittler. It's got some scratches but the blades are pretty full. Hope to see more.

It looks like a small one next to the silver.Very nice. Mike that whittler reminds me of the one I had 'cept mine was a sleeveboard.
