Cattle Knife Roundup

I believe this is my only one, I think, or is it an equal end whittler?:

Nice knives guys, Charlie, your collection is outstanding!

Eric

Equal end whittler seems to fit. That's what came to mind as soon as I saw it.

Here's a little junior cattleman, stamped Syracuse Knife Company; probably a Camillus brand.Unused after many years!!
With it is a Rogers Wostenholme that I carried for years. Nice horn handles, great steel!

Next pic has another junior cattleman (cattleboy;-)?) a Robeson with purty handles. With it is a Big Bulldog Cattle King!

It's interesting to see that most three blades have one nail nick on the front of the blade, for righties anyways, and the other two blades have the nicks on the opposite side. There are a few with two on the main side and one in back. Only that pPrimble forur blade has all the nicks on one side, except the punch.
Waynorth, do you have a picture of that knife closed looking on at the front?
Also what does the Kutmaster say stamped on the blade? Property of US.....?
Navihawk, it says " PROPERTY OF U.S. GOV'T .
I will try and come up with a pic of the 4-blade closed.

I can't carry this one, because I'd keep getting arrested when my pants fell down!
In this corner, about 50 pounds of swingin' steel, a monster among knives, the Dan Burke-designed real cattle knife!
Laser sculpted steer head on the cattle bone handles, it is something to look at, but you need a close friend to help, if you are going to carry it;-)

Another unusual one, here's an I*XL Cattleman, built like a whittler, with split backsprings, separated by a wedge. Spey and punch blades, with a spear main;

A look at the springs;

Good grief. Looks like that one would make a rap star out of a guy for sure without a stiff pair of suspenders!

Charlie, nice knife! Is that a Burke collaboration?

Yes Eric, Dan Burke with Queen. I think my favorite ones that they have done together, are the small "English" jacks with the filed pearl!
Dan's collaborations are not as well known as the Bose/Case ones, but they've done some interesting stuff. If someone knows more, maybe they can post here!! Or start a thread??

Quite a nice variety of cattle knives in this thread fellers. Thanks for all the posts. Now, when someone does a "cattle" or "cattleman" knife search, there should be no excuse for not knowing what one looks like. :thumbup::D

Well gotta add my Cattle knife into the mix, down here in Brazil, surely wanted
to bring her along but since I can't lock my luggage I hate taking knives I'd miss
way too much!

I really like the slanted bolsters in the same direction.The springs are about as presicion as presicion gets.

That IXL is whack!:eek: Who the heck comes up with these brain twisters...a cattle knife in a whittler config:confused: I like it!

Being one of my favorite patterns, I just can't let this cattle knife thread just fade away. Here are two Schrades I have in secure storage. They came from the factory display board when they sold them off! sniff!
