I ran across on an old style Centofante the other day with a green Kraton insert. The only ones that I have ever seen up until then had black inserts. Does anybody know anything about this? Were there several colors?

Just curious,

There was also a blue version. Each one had a different anodized shade to compliment the insert. I bought myself a green one about 4 years ago. The Centofante was my first knife over $20.

Chad.
The C25 had only three colors.
Grey handles with green inserts about 2000pcs.
Grey handles with black inserts about 5000pcs.
Blue handles with blue inserts about 1000pcs.
We did make some black handles with pearl inserts just for fun about 20pcs.
Hope this helps.
Vince.

Just to add to the list, the green and blue models came in both plain and serrated blades.

The black that I have seen are plain and partially serrated. I haven't seen a fully serrated with black inserts.

Thanx, Vince.

I thought about using one of the pearl insert models as a contest prize for a Children's Hospital raffle.

Do you think this would be a desirable prize?

Sal,
IMO, that would make a VERY, VERY desirable prize. Where do I sign up?

Have you given any further thought to holding this raffle, Sal? TIA.

Outstanding, Sal! I'll be looking for your post with an open wallet and the gleam of knife lust in my eye.

I would buy into that raffle. Sounds like a nice knife and a nicer cause.

I am current high bidder on a green insert Centofante on ebay (won't last, 4 days to go) butt I had a question on it. In the picture it shows filework on the spacer, was this factory done?

Sal,

This is one I want to be in on

. However, would it be possible for me to donate a similar amount to the Children's Hospital here in Sydney (I could fax you the receipt). Otherwise I lose out on the exchange rate and charges for an International Money Order.

Don't worry that the world might end tomorrow....in Australia it's tomorrow already.

To answer an earlier question, yes, the Al spacers were "fileworked". One of the biggest regrets I have in my knife collecting hobby is that I sold off my plain edge black insert model...

Sal, I would gladly buy a raffle ticket it that was the prize!!!
