CF FFG Manix 2

The next is a carbon fiber (peel-ply) full, skeletonized liners, full flat CPM-S90V blade. I've been carrying one for a couple of days. Eric will give you a "heads up" when they're shipping. It's a very nice piece, in my opinion.

Does this mean that the 1st batch is complete and it is just going through the final quality control process?

A 4"+ Manix would be really something to count pennies for! Over the years, I've heard several discussions about a larger folding Spydie, such as the mythical "Bison" model. A Manix, with its superb ergos and the new ball lock, with a blade at least as long as the Police 3, but with that leaf shape...yeah Baby!! Come to Papa!

The FFG/CF Manix2 will probably be out of my price range, but the TeroTuff sounds interesting. I wonder what sort of properties the TeroTuff material has and what the cost will be?

Oh man. I was just about to place an order for a manix 2 when I saw this. My next knife purchase is right here; Spyderco Manix in CF with FFG.

What is this mythical Bison, which you speak of?
Any info on it? Sounds like my type of folder.

Perhaps Mr. Glesser might chime in and affirm this, but some years ago, there was talk of a Spyderco "Mega-Folder" named the Bison. You may recall the trend in the early years of this century towards folding knives with blades of 4 1/2 inches or greater--my favorite being the late, lamented Camillus Cuda Maxx. As I recall, the idea was dropped or became dormant because Mr. Glesser could not imagine a design of that size that met his scrupulous criteria. The Bison has been glimpsed on this forum and Spyderco's own, like a mythical beast, appearing occasionally, then disappearing into the mist, leaving us to wonder it it ever existed at all. I see it as a white buffalo, imbued with fantastic powers, elusive, and the subject of vain quests.

Use the search function here and on the factory forum to read the fantastic tales.

We'll be making a variety of the Manix2 pattern with various combinations.

Wow...Might be the perfect knife for me. Looking forward to it.

Hoping for a full-serrated offering...:D

YAY!!! A 4"+ Manix is what I'm talking about :D

I don't care what the steel is as long as it's a manix with a ball bearing lock and a big blade (with G-10 handles of course :p)

Even though 90% of my cutting tasks could be accomplished with a Kiwi--except while hiking--I still would seriously lust for a Spyderco mega-folder.

All real Americans want big knives. We have frontiers to conquer! Still.

thanx Tizwin,

We do have a design for a large folder. Multiposition handle. We made a concept model. I'll dig it out and we can consider it for the future.
