CF S90V Paramilitary 2 for edc?

I don't know about y'all but I only have a pivot screw on one side. Unless there is one under the clip.

Also, I just saw that my military has a stripped t6 holding the scale on from the factory. Will they send me another screw?

You gotta call them and ask. They may want you to send it in. Hard to say as they take it on a case by case basis. The green "stuff" you mentioned is off. I bought 2 of these S90V para2s and both were about the most perfect F&F GOlden knives I've ever owned.

I'll call and ask. I wish so badly that I could have bought two of these but it wasn't in the cards. I hate to use it since it will never be in production again, but you only live once. I'm gonna use it and be happy carrying it.

If I thought I'd be beating the crap out of it then I'd keep it in it's box, but my edc duties mostly pertain to cutting open packages, mail, cutting food and other easy tasks. It won't be abused so I think it'll be ok. It would be a shame to buy a knife this nice then never use it. Who knows I might be worm food one day and my para2 might still be sitting in it's box. That would be sad. ;)

That's the spirit!

Mine is a user...i know some people have the funds to buy two and safe queen one and use the other, i don't. Thus if i'm spending 190 on a blade, its going in my pocket where i can enjoy the wear resistance of S90V, and the beauty of peel-ply carbon fiber. I absolutely love the ergonomics of the paramilitary 2, I think, at least for me, it has one of the best!

Unless something unrelated to use happens to that knife that renders it gone or useless you will probably get a decade and more from it as an EDC.

I know that's easy coming from someone that has two but I have a history of buying two of each knife I think I'll really like. Reality however, says that I will continue to carry the first one and it will still look as new after 6 months (except for some Ti scaled knives) of regular, weekly carry so I end up either selling that one or even the safe queen awaiting her turn so I can buy a newer offering. It's a great day to be a knife enthusiast. But the CF S90V Para 2 will never go out of style nor will it wear out for a very long time. It's that good.

I ended up taking the clip off and I'm glad I did. The pivot screw underneath was loose enough that it could have come out had the clip not been holding it on. I tightened it up then put loctite on the clip screws so it should be good to go.

Good Job. Standard knife maintenance ;) I hope you like this knife as much as I do.

So true. No extra points for dying with unused safe queen knives, or anything else. :(

Some wise BFC member once said: "SOMEBODY is going to use it. You just have to decide if it's going to be you or your wife's next husband."

I only have one and I'm using it. I really can't appreciate something that sits in a safe.

Its a pity that so many people have multiples of these. I was under the impression dealers were limiting these sought after sprints to one per person so more people would have a chance at getting one.

Well, if they aren't, they should be.

There's talk of another run of these over on another forum. So who knows we may see some more of these sooner or later.

I hope not, if you sell it as a Sprint Run of XXX, any changes to that is a marketing violation in my opinion, whether I had one or not. At a minimum, Spyderco would have to make a change to the knife (scale color, blade material, etc.).

Rich

I'm still looking forward to trying the Para 2 with CTS-20CP blade steel and Gray G-10 scales due out next year sometime. I'm on preorder for that one . . .

Well I picked it up and also a digi camo s30v military. I like them both but the para2 has some blade play and that means it's not perfect, so I'll be using it.

Also my para2 came with some kind of green gunk in the pivot and some of it was in the jimping also. I cleaned it out with mineral oil but was that corrosion of some sort or just something that got in there somehow?

Probably just gunk (or possibly grease). I have yet to get S90V to corrode, and I'm not exactly gentle with my knives. The only other thing it might be is the washers corroding - if someone dunked the knife in battery acid. I kind of doubt that.
