CFK Gratch and T90

Still haven't got mine yet. How did yours come post office, ups or fed ex?

USPS. The mailman came and left a paper saying it had to be signed for. Luckily, I saw that on the online tracking and stopped by the post office on the way home. I know it probably doesn't help, but it's worth the wait.

Danger! Loving my Gratch, have been carrying it for almost a week now. Today while I was golfing my hand went in my pocket a little bit and the tip of my pinky finger easily slid through the end of the frame of the closed gratch and got sliced by the tip! Unfortunately this design definitely has a tip issue when closed.

As I sit here with mine in hand, I can definitely see that happening. Thanks for the warning!

I don't see that happening to me at all. The tip is recessed a good third of an inch into the handle when closed. I tried to reach it but couldn't. Perhaps my finger configuration is different.

I definitely thought the same thing, it surprised me with a small, deep cut on the pinky finger tip. It's not the dimension from the butt of the handle that is dangerous, I can't reach it from there. It's how shallow the tip sits in the handle frame, which is true for many knives I own. Like if the designer had designed the butt end of the knife much, much less slender like my Spyderco military then the meat of a finger tip could not slide along the edge of the frame and come anywhere close to catching the tip of the blade. But such is the design, I don't like it any less, in fact it's clearly my favorite knife. It's not so bad, but small painful cuts on fingertips are annoying for sports and need superglue! So I need to be careful when I carry this knife every day to be deliberate when reaching near my pocket lol.

I ordered mine on black Friday and still have not got it. Has everyone who ordered that day got there's?

I am so satisfied with my Gratch. Thank you CKF for making such a knife for such an affordable price. I certainly never thought I would find such value in a $350ish pocket knife after being relatively unsatisfied by my long sold large Sebenza 21! The Gratch and satin Sukhoi 2.0 truly dominate the $350 price point if you share my tastes. I was just watching a video about the Southard Tolk and was surprised by how favorably the Gratch compares for me...I'm so excited to see what they produce in the next few years.

My Gratch came this morning. All I can say is wow what a knife. Very happy I chose to order it.

Glad it arrived safely....it is a great knife. I'm going to introduce mine to the Edge Pro today and see what it's really made of!

Well, my Sukhoi 2.0 welcomed little brother Gratch into the household this week.

This is one terrific knife. I'll add two brief comments for sake of this thread:

1. Yes, I can depress my thumb into the tip past the liner without much thumb pressure. I have short, stubby thumbs/fingers and it still makes contact with the tip (but doesn't snag the tip).

2. Mine probably has a slight variation in coloring. The pivots are anno. blue, the clip is faint anno. blue/copper. However, I can detect no anno. of any kind on the back spacer in any light condition. The spacer appears to be the same color as the liner.

None of the above bother me in the least. This is a KEEPER SUPREME!!!

Been using mine every day and it's been just perfect up until today. Mine has developed a minor but annoying detent problem. The detent is still balanced just right and functions perfectly for closed retention and flipping but there is now out-and-in play when the blade is closed. The blade wiggles a millimeter and an audible muted click is made when I alternate pushing on the flipper and blade spine as if the detent hole in the blade has developed an oval shape by a chipped or eroded edge. When I shine a flashlight in the detent ball appears to be fine. I don't think I'll take it apart or email CKF yet, it's a minor but annoying thing. Although it moves a very small amount it feels tremendous and significant and if I try to shake the blade open (I can't - great detent) the noise of it moving in the detent hole seems pretty loud. Unfortunately when the blade wiggles outwards now the tip is flush with the liner. : (

I may just be misunderstanding you but is it possible the pivot is just a hair loose? I think this can happen on CKF's without loctite. Good luck!
