Before I get started I wanted to let everyone know this trade that occurred was almost entirely done on instagram, with the exception of one message on the green forum. I felt compelled to atleast let people know about Chad Eckhart and what he is about.

I had put a MINT Chaves 228 midtech up for trade on instagram and was non stopped messaged by Chad about trading for it and that he couldn't buy it. I commented about a Medford 187 on his feed and when I asked what the condition was or if there were any issues to speak of.... he told me it was "brand new" . when received, the 187 had rust on the blade, scratched and dinged up pivots and scratches on the blade from use and/or handling. All of this could have been put out there from the get go but it was not. Immediately after receiving it I text him explaining my issue and asking him to please return my knife and ill return his. He simply tells me to not return his knife and that he is keeping the 228. He tells me that a little steel wool will get the rust out and that its "like new" and as advertised. I couldn't believe it when he told me to clean the rust off myself. after asking many times he still refuses to make it right. He is a liar and I thought I would let everyone know. Ill keep the private communication from us unless he decides that he want's to refute anything I've said..... in that case ill spare no details and post screen shots of EVERYTHING.

his Instagram handle is BUCKFEVER4LIFE and he is also a moderator for the tuffknives sub forum on the green forum. I felt the need to post here because he needs to be held accountable in some form or fashion.

I do not know his username on this forum, but if anyone does it would be greatly appreciated.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!:thumbdn:

There are three sides to every story. It doesn't look like you're seeking a resolution, particularly since you simply posted his personal information online and outright called him a liar. He might feel the same about you...

after asking 7 times for a resolution which was returning my knife to me, and mine to him and only saying no he was keeping my knife....... I have nothing else but to post feedback in hopes that other people are not duped as I was. I offered to send his knife back first just in case he was concerned of a fast one being pulled. At this point I have little hope of getting my knife back. He lied and then openly blamed me for the damage claiming he never saw anything of the sort.... that's because he didn't check

Sorry to hear about this. The more I read about this kind of stuff, the more I think that I won't trade unless I know the other party. What a shame.

It would be interesting to hear the other sides!

I would love for him to step up and bring forth his side. I have no problem posting screenshots of all communication if this happens. in my mind it was clear cut...... knife was said to be "brand new" and it showed up otherwise. deal is off, but instead he decided to keep mine because he really wanted one.

does anyone know if I can do anything legally about this? Would it be considered mail fraud?

I hope you posted that information on your other forum, they might be interested to know what's happening or not. You really should be asking these questions over there, since some amount of this happened there. we are not the clearing house for knife deals gone wrong in all corners of the world. We have no effect on what happens on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and much less other forums.

I for one am grateful he's looking out for bf members.

I sure did. this was more of an effort to let other people know, so that others are not lied to as well. I understand there will be no action or anything on bladeforums.

Is this guy a friend of yours? You sure seem to be irate that the OP posted this.

What resolution is he supposed to be seeking if the guy refuses to return his knife? If the knife was misrepresented wouldn't that make him a liar? And as for his personal info, I'm glad to have it. Now I know to look out for the guy.

Posting pictures of the knife also helps to validate a complaint. I would message a moderator on the other forums about the issue, I'm sure they would like to know if you were traded something misrepresented.

I learned last night about the USPS postal intercept service. Ive filed as well as called usps and the local PO where he lives as i also found it wasnt delivered yet. Ive been told when they scan it that it will be returned to sender (me). Obviously ill be sending his knife back to him. If for some reason this falls through, ill gladly post all the pictures as well as comms where he stated the item in question was brand new, and the ones where he decided to say everything qas my fault lol.....

Imho, If the guy has a real beef, he can come here and set the record straight. If there is an "other side" to this story there's been ample opportunity to tell it. Only truth and cockroaches run from light, imho. . .

An update on this. I was in fact able to get the postal intercept, or so it seems. The item was held from delivery and should be on its way back to me later tonight. Ill be sending him his back as well. This was a life saver that i had no idea the USPS offered.

If you search outside of the exchange for Buckfever4life you will find nothing.

Hooray, glad to hear the USPS worked for someone!!! That should fry Buckfever's you know what!!

Im still waiting for a change of tracking status or a charge to my card. He was pretty irrate that he seemingly came so close to getting one over on me.
