I went and ordered some Spyderco Kitchen knives from James 19 Nov and due to who knows what the order was misplaces or whatever over the thanksgiving weekend. After sending James a follow up e-mail he promptly responded and told me he would be adding a "slowpoke dealer discount" which was more than fair.

The knives were sent out 5 Dec and they arrived today the 8th.

When the order was placed I had no idea at all what I really wanted as these knives are a Christmas present for the wife, not somthing for me

I let James pick and choose the knifes and to put togeather a really nice kitchen knife set using Spyderco knives.

picking out what knives to put togeather for the wife. Without a doubt he did much better than I could ever do trying to figgure out what would make up a nice kitchen set.

Nice reminder of one of the finest men with whom I have had the pleasure of corresponding. One of the knives I will never part with is one I bought from James. I sometimes carry it just because :)

James was a great man, and his passing has impacted this community in ways most will never know. I am convinced that if JKM was still with us, half the flame wars that occur would be non-exsistent.

He was a good man. None better at ending a flamewar with a few words of wisdom. He respected everyone on this board and everyone in turn respected him.

And he had a unique way of selling knives! :D

The only other online store I can think of that combines sales and philosophy/culture/history anything like James did is Ragweed Forge.
 
Still using the knives & had em sharpened at Spyderco not long ago....

Thanks for the great recommendation James....thinking of you when I use em....
 
Gone but never forgotten. He was one of a kind. I still own the knives I got from James but for the ones I gave away as gifts.
