Well . . .
. . . I pretty much failed at my first attempt to carry the same knife for a month.
I started out with G_L_O_R_I_A (the highly modded Cold Steel Pendleton in 3V; top in photo). Then got obsessed with getting the same thing with a bit smaller handle. Had to have the better steel so went with 3V in the Mini Pendleton.
The !$#%^#^$& sheath kept dulling the blade though, even after I modded THAT!
. . . I just got fed up farting around. That and I learned I am not that into a fixed . . . for everything . . . because I have to wash it too often. Use it at work then want it clean for at home.
So all I can say is :
Knoyfe ? ? ? That's not a Knoyfe.
THIS
is a Knoyfe !
Finally I just grabbed : A REAL KNIFE . . . the Ritter Grip in M390.
FINALLY I could just relax !
Thank YOU KnifeWorks for your EXCLUSIVES !
As the song says
"You're getting to be a habit with me".
What I mean by washing too much is
A folder does not slip into a sheath so if the blade is dirty all I need to wash is the blade, not a sheath too (inside and out), and I am good when I get home. How ever with a fixed blade if I don't wash the sheath immaculately then as soon as I slip the blade back in the sheath with trash juice in it . . . well you get the picture.
AND I know, especially with THIS wonder knife / blade steel, . . . I KNOW the edge is going to be sharp when I go to cut something.
Just today at work, after not carrying this knife for a couple three months, I popped it open to slit a plastic product package open with the tip of the knife. Last time I tried that with the other super magical be all end all extra mother super steel it failed to do the job and just bunched up the plastic and whined.
The Ritter Grip in M390 just slit the package open. Easily. Without fuss.
There
Was that so difficult ?
Perhaps tomorrow the big brother of the Grip may show up, tracking says it is in Denver, and I think I will finally have a knife worthy of a full, one month, do it all, run.
Oh Yah BABY !
Can't wait !
Either that or I will just grab my Case Trapper in Stag. I know that blade is long enough and able to keep cutting to boot.
PS: yah . . . I said long enough. I learned that for a do it all I need about four inches.
