Challenge coins

Not always. I've seen corporations give them out at conventions and they always have them at the BX/PX for the base you're at or the operation you're in (e.g. OIF or OEF). However, the coins from the orgs you belong to or that you're given for doing the job well, those are the ones that mean something.

The other problem with the coins is that once the die is made and the coins are struck, it's tough to control the output and disposition of further coins. So don't think for a second that they will somehow be exclusive or collectible. ESEE coins would end up on the counter in Turkey or Korea or China or the PI or wherever you have the coins made. On the flip side, it might be great advertising to the wanabes and general populace.

Typically, the loser of the challenge pays a penalty. What is it if you don't have your ESEE coin?

These WILL be made in the US. I'm looking at a local company right now. If the company comes back w/ too high of a quote I have a couple back ups that are vets. I have no problem paying the higher price for a company owned and operated by vets. The local company is not, not my knowledge owned or operated by vets. I'm just getting a quote from them because I like to support local business.

I get some from work from time to time, but the whole idea behind them is that you are given them or the ones you purchase are given away. Then when someone pulls out their challenge coin, you have to pull out one that's "worth" more (i.e. given by a higher ranking person), lowest coin buys the drinks.

If we do these then let's keep them REAL simple. I hate all the detail on most coins. Here's the DEA coin from the Colombia mission. Real simple and to the point. It means something rather than a bunch of flashy bullshit.

Never seen that method. Usually it's when somebody pulls it and either the other guy has one or not. If you have it, the challenger buys if you don't, then you buy. I'm sure there are "rules" posted online.

FYSA - Big dollars for that and only a couple of companies in the US that can mint them. A local company might be doing the design work, etc., but if they are taking care of the minting and prices seem on par with other quotes you've gotten, you might want to ask some questions.

I will only buy one if they feature a rainbow, a unicorn, or the Hall of Justice prominently.

Or, if they come in pink.

Or, they are .900 fine (or better) gold.

I dunno about all the challenge aspects of it, seems to be out of my league really. However, if you make one, the ESEE Logo on one side would be cool and a compass rose on the other, at least it would have something to do with the core of the company besides their logo...

How about a cigar cutter with the logo?

I have a wall full of coins also. Not that I wouldn't add one more. :)

Wonder what kind of review Cricket could do with a couple of these ???
Be safe. :)

oh lord! Makes me think of the adults only camp out. The Mr was passed out w/ his head on the table. David and I were giggling like fools. When we finally decided we should go to bed the mr sent me off to p in the woods WITH A DEAD FLASHLIGHT! I had to get David to rescue me b/c the mr was passed out in the tent already. He would have never noticed if I had gotten mauled by coyotes.
