Is there anyone here intersted in making charcoal ? for your forge or Grill.

If you burn wood for winter time heat there's a good chance you'll be able to make charcoal at the same time, like I am ..

I'll post some picture if you're intersted in what I built to do this :)

Dan, where ya been man? Good to see you on here again.

Yep lets see a picture of your method.

COOL... I'm not on my own puter right now to do so
I'll post the pictures tomorrow, I hope..

NO!!!! I WAS SO EXCITED!!!
I saw that you posted last, and I thought you would finally tell us... maybe tomorrow... :(

i have a diagram i'll post if dans feels he wont mind if i post it, it s very simple drawing i did up, but ill wait till he posts first, dont wanna hijack his thread

Thanks for waiting on me guys.. Bruce I'm still kicking around ,, I wish they had softer boots though  :D
guys add your gismo's too if you'd like.. I don't mind..

Here it is..
I built this to save the cost in wasted wood where as I heat the house with wood anyway through the winter

I just put it in the stove and let the stove do the work..
I used a piece of 2X4 streel tubing and two 1/4" plates
with 4, 1/8" holes in the bottom for the gasses to exscape.

The rest you can see how it's built.. the door is fitted to just slide and wedge in place..
it's working great so far..
OH BTW.. it holds, cut up 2x4 ends very well :)

A good solution. I built a setup from a big propane tank when I had a charcoal forge back in 2003. As far as I remember to watch the flames from the steam holes was real fun.
