Stoppin' by to say hi!

Headin' home for the day. Dan, I ordered all the bits we discussed, sans the washers. I may eye those up at the local hw store and buy them then.

New steel next week. You the MAN for helping me with all my questions!

Excellent! I checked the specs ib the shop today and you are good to go!

Local is great for the washers, I think my local True Value has colored ones. #00

New steel! excellent, what did you get?

Anytime on the help!

Lunch break!

Well I'm stoked, got a new/returning employee starting in 10 days here. She's a hot little british girl, too! (She's a close friend of the wife and I, so yes I can say that without looking over my shouler). So now I can cut the dead weight around here.

Started a razor project this morning. I know I said I'm going to finish old ones first, but I spied the perfect scrap of steel on my bench and had to ge it rollin! Daniel, its that super secret kamisori design I sent you a while back. Its gonna either be awesome, or its gonna be a big ol' turd. We'll see, don't know until I try!

Speaking of razors, I somehow managed to be included in a pass around of a new razor by Butch Harner, its a stainless steel he is trying out, CTS XHP, supposed to be the best yet in SS for razors. Most can't even get close to the smoothness of a good carbon tool steel. I considered bying one, but his prices start around $600 for a basic straight razor!!!

Anyways, just thought I would drop in while I came up for air. Lunch break is never long enough.

The Kamisori will rock!!! your design is too cool

I bet Butch's razor is just top notch, very cool... Butch is a good guy too, helpful to his fellow knife makers.

What waz for lunch?

reminds me... I had a roast beef sandwich with Alabama white BBQ sauce. Addictive stuff! http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/...ons-alabama-white-bbq-sauce-recipe/index.html

I just walked in from mucho grinding! 12 knives went from 40 to 80 grit on the bevels today. :D

I won't say it.. ok I will: PIX :) even a shotty pic of them scattered, need feed!

I left my camera over at my mother-in-laws cabin; will get back tomorrow. I wanted to do a Ti grinding vid and realized we left it there. That reminds me, I want to rig up some sort of first person view camera holder.

Dan, if you want first person POV you have to get a go pro. I love my go pro, use it for motorcycle rides all the time. Used mine to jump off a few water falls in Maui too.

Kittycam!

I have a mini tripod so I'm good to go. I should have brought the camera back though! I want to do some more videos in the future by the way, it has been a while!

Nice!!!

I just searched for them and have seen some locally, they look awesome!

I can see it now...

11:15, restate my assumptions: 1. Knives are the language of nature. 2. Everything around us can be represented and understood through knives. 3. If you graph these knives, patterns emerge. Therefore: There are patterns everywhere in nature.

9:13, Personal note: When I was a little kid my mother told me not to stare at knives. So once when I was six I did. The doctors didn't know if my eyes would ever heal. I was terrified, alone in that darkness. Slowly, daylight crept in through the bandages, and I could see. But something else had changed inside of me. That day I ground my first chisel zero bevel.

:D

lol, I was reading that and said to myself, WAIT I KNOW THOSE LINES... and yes, I see why.. I have PI on disc... speaking of which, I have a huge DVD collection that I need to dump one day... haven't watched a movie in ages...

I think you need to check out Tetsuo. :)

edit: I should add, I have a huge collection of twisted mother truckin' shiz... and warning, if you watch any of the Tetsuo clips you might be disturbed-especially if you haven't been "dulled" yet by other f'd up movies/productions... bah, you've been warned, and this ain't as bad as it gets, lol....

Cool, must check!

Pi was awesome, I had it on VHS! My 76 year old Dad rocks the soundtrack. Good music... I think I got into Roni Size through that one.

Ugh, morning.

Nothing like getting woken up by a phone call. Roll over to see who it is, can barely see, only to find out its my employee that im supposed to open with this morning. Seriously?! Ugh, she was bawling her eyes out, so something bad happened I guess. Oh well, but now I cant go back to sleep. Damnit. Coffee, must find coffee.

Beer can be food, but food cannot be beer.

So, I'm at work now, gotta have my closing cashier come in for a split shift today. My opening cashier, her grandfather passed away this morning. To top things off, I know she's going to take some time off and next weeks schedule is already FUBAR'd becaue my boss is on vcation. So now I will be down two bodies, the new girl doesn't start until the following week either. So either I have to give up my 3 day weekend, or find someone to cover from another store. My other cashier is already maxed out for hours next week working 6 days.

Damn, today is off to a friggen great start. Thin ribbon of blood dripping off my jaw line this morning, too. Cut myself pretty good with a straight razor. Haven't done that in a very long time! Fortunately it was on my second pass, so I finished it up and called it good enough. Not terrible, but it took a while to stop bleeding...

Not sure how I managed it, but I sure got myself good. It has been almost two years since I cut myself this bad! Occasionally I get one weeping cut from a zit or a bump I take the top off of, but not a full-on cut.

At least the coffee is good.

Gnarly!!! ouch, that looks tough. It has been the same way in the shop this week, my index finger is hamburger... the worst one was a kydex burr that cut me deeply! That is a deep one.

Kermmack, you must be on knifemaker time. :D (or another time zone!)

Bako - where is he! I'm about to send food and titanium sniffing dogs to the adit he works in, I'm worried about a collapse!

I've been busy as heck with a Backpacker run... hope to finish up some others too here soon. Waki, Bali, some orders...

Thanks Daniel.
I went to buy food reserves (more beer ......) for a barbecue.
Tomorrow it will be a very bad day mainly because fishing season begins.
I love your knives.
