Cheap abrasive paper is the devil

How do these compare to 3M imperial wet to dry? I've noticed the 3M sheets I get from the auto parts store lasts about 3 times as long as the hardware store brands.

Same here, its the cost that makes me buy the rhynowet.
I ran out one time and the only thing open was a K.O.I.
The 3m auto wet/dry cut very fast. The only problem is it was twice as expensive.

I was going to mention that the stuff we tend to use is "automotive" paper, whereas the big box store stuff is for use on wood. I have different paper for sanding wood.

I started with automotive 3m wet or dry and in my experience Matador and Klingspor are far superior when it comes to how long it's effective per sheet. I just got 2 boxes of Rhynowet to try based on everyone's feedback here so I can't speak to that yet.

I just wish the paper on the 3M was a little heavier grade. I may have to try Klingspor or one of the others, I do like the Klingspor belts though.

Scott if you would like, I could mail you a couple sheets of Matador, Klingspor, Rhyno. I see you're a fellow cheesehead. I'm in Black River Falls.

Making my first knife now. Thought I was being smart but the harbor freight stuff. I swear the plastic wrapper it come in takes more grit off the paper than I do.
