Does anyone know where I can get really good flexible J-flex 280-400 grit AO belts, cheap.
I use the 280 j-flex probably more then any other belts, for clean up and final handle shaping and my supplier, discount abrasives has appeared to have went out of business. I believe I was paying something like $1.25 a belt, everyone else I've came across so far wants at least twice that much and the life span is no longer the the cheaper belts, plus the cheaper belts were more flexible. I'm going to miss discount abrasives.

Thanks,

Bill

at $1.25 I can see why they would go out of business :o
great price.
Bill let us know what you end up.
I like the J flex too.
the last I bought was from g l perice but it was in 2004 for $1.70 each

and I'm about ready to need more..Thanks

Thanks,Bill

Bill,
There 120 grit belts were fantastic and dirt cheap.
I heard that the owner was called in by the BIG company that he got many of his belts from and told that other suppliers were pissed because of the price he offered on ebay.
They told him everything was double from now on.
The owner got mad and told the to piss off!
That is such a shame.

I buy from true grit and super grit most often.
They both have great service.

I wonder what country they are in, it can't be the USA...
I'd like to see someone doing that to me,
I wouldn't tell them to piss off
I would be pissed off..:grumpy:
unless it was a franchise, that sounds like a law suit to me..

Discount was in business for a long time Dan.
That is the sad thing.. Then their main supplier just put it in them because others were whining about their pricing.
Ill miss them for sure.
I used there stiff x weight 120 belts all the time.
They had really high standing grit on them.
They lasted well and cut really well for a standard AO.
The owner was really hot.
I felt sorry for him.
He said he did lots of bus with them and always paid on time ect.

Mike that place looks reasonable thanks..

Darrell , that would get me hot for sure, it's a sad day when we can't sell at what prices we want.. I'd like to know just what companies complained..
and the supplier and tell them to piss off and make sure they don't get my business. as a mater of principle I wonder if I can come up with some belts and a great co-op price :D they wouldn't want me to get in there faces.
I'm getting just old enough to do it and not care ;) :D hahaha

Dan,
It was close to Cleveland Ohio
Thats all I know because he went there in person.
He would not tell me who it was however.

thanks Darrel
I just checked my P/B to fine the place that would make belts for me
I need to call them to see what kind of a deal I can get for a lot of them :D
they'll make anything you want..but I see they changed addresses..
hmmm we'll see :)

Darrel, its a shame they closed up, but I don't blame them if thats the case.
I really liked their 280 flex belts and wish I would have bought a thousand of them. I'll do some hunting around and let everyone know if I come up with some good deals.

Thanks,

Bill

No sir, I haven't looked yet. My supply is getting low and I need to get my butt in gear , or I'll be up a creek.
If you find a good place please post it here,

Thanks,
Bill

Yep I agree Dan, but there all X weight belts and I would really like to get
j-flex 280 and 400. I sent out a couple inquiries this morning, hopefully I'll get lucky.

Thanks,

Bill

dang Bill sorry, I didn't think about them being J-flex or not....you can use micron belts about the same way but they are expensive, at least where I'm getting them from..again let us know what you find out if you would..:)

edited to add I just checked with the outfit I use for 8x11 sand paper
the j-flex resin over resin non directional belts run $2.98 at a quantity buy. more than I thought they'd be.
