Cheap Belts

The reason I mentioned Industrial Abrasives is because in their product section they list (I checked first!):

145J Aluminum Oxide, Closed Coat (Made in England). “J” Weight 100% Cotton for dry sanding of wood or metal polishing. Good for Pump Sleeves. P80J–P400J FEPA.

Having seen that, I thought they might be worth a phone call since they had an 800 number. Just trying to help when there was no other clear solution.

Sorry about that, I'll be more cautious in the future.............

and leave a message tonight if they have a machine or if not call them tomorow, it can't hurt..
edited to add message left, I think. a redirect go me to a working recorder I think..I'll folow up tomorow.

Bill does this look some what right??
the first one is the one Mike was talking about I think..

KF376 Special Ceramic Coated Aluminum Oxide, Closed Coat (Made in Germany). Flexible “J” Weight 100% Cotton for sanding high carbon steel. Also works well for contour wood sanding. Great for discs. P60J–P400J FEPA.

Dan, that was one of the inquiries I sent an e-mail to yesterday, still haven't received a reply from either source yet.

Mike P. thanks for the link, the 320 J-flex belts will work, I'll order 10 and see how they are before ordering more.

Thanks,

Bill

Thanks,

bill I called them and that web site is out dated
the new belt number is
rb346 j weight 220 320 400 2.24 each
this are at sp order and 18 needs to be ordered at a time for a flat rate shipping she told me..it's possible to get them at 2.00 buck even with some
pretty pleasing...because I think they will price and do with Econo one of there big competitors.

I just got a call from the whole sale department, Bill
$1.83 per belt at 24 min order per grit..plus S&H..this is whole dealer..
they do not want to mess with a lot of small orders

maybe we can COOP this some how..personaly I don't have the time to do a lot of small orders for guys but if you guys wanted to place a good order each ( if this price ends up a good one.. ) we can get some going?

I could use 50 right now.. let me know what you all think?
25 of 220 and 25 of the 400

Mike P
I don't see any J weight on that site do you have the link to them?
http://abrasivesrus.com

ok so i got a noobie ?
j,x and all the other weights
is there someplace i can read up on what it all means :o

Mike / Bill I just called them and their web site prices are nuts , and they admit it..
the J belts are $2.00 each at 10 per order..
I talked to Scott and he will work with the prices, some of you guys must have seen them at blade also..they said they sold out there..

he said they would match the 1.83 price I got from the other
the good part would be, if we can get it for that price, the min order is less
and he claims the belts are just plain better also..

Dan, the way I read the AbrasivesRUs, their price is $1.80 less 19 cents, so $1.61 each in 10 quantity.

Get 'em competing, Dan! When you can get 'em down to a $1 each for ceramcis we'll all stock up bigtime! LOL (joking)

Dan I just received an e-mail from them and it said they could make up 320 J flex belts for me at $2.23 ea. with a 25 minimun order. I just odered some from AbrasivesR us, I'm not going to dicker back and forth with them, at $1.61 ea from abrasives r us I'll be happy no matter if you get the others down to $1.50, but I don't see that happenin, Good luck.

Bill

:) at Abrasives R US, Scott said to me $2.00 each with the possibility of less.
he said the website price of $1.61 was wrong..if they are honoring that
but he said they are $2.00 each on the phone but would
match the $1.83 Sandy gave me at Industrial abrasives

Mike the web site is out dated, if you call them they'll tell you it is
Scott said he confirms that with an email if ordering from the site, he said his web guy is not on the ball. he even asked me what the web site had for pricing  I'm just going on what I was told..

anyway it boils down to
if the price is both $1.83 from either of them but you can order only ten at a time from Abrasives R US
with them we don't have to worry about having to getting 25 of just one grit from Abrasives R US you can mix some grits up some with them that way 10 of one and 15 of the other...
you or I don't mind getting 25 lots at a time but some guys may not want that many of one grit at a time.. just food for thought here..
I'll go for 50 belts at the $1.83 price I guess..

it gets a little mixed up talking to the retail department and the whole sale department at Industrial abrasives ..

Bill to recap you are ordering from Industrial abrasives right?
I'm not sure which "them" you are referring too.

edited Bill
I just re-read your post
you
odered from AbrasivesR us
was it from thier online page?? I'm interested if they honor the prices there or not??

anyway at
.40 per belt x 50 belts,, for $20.00 I'd dicker with the devil
I grew up to poor not to I guess, it's a hard thing to break :o

BTW the reg X belts are $1.40 each..at Abrasives R US

well I hope any of this helps..

Sorry, Dan, I just plain misread your post and thought you meant the quotes you obtained and comments regarding out-of-date web pricing came from Industrial Abrasives.

I get confused easily nowadays.... :o

Dan, I ordered from Abrasives R Us on line. I received a confirming e-mail on price and quanity ordered. If they don't honor it I will cancel the credit card and send the belts back. I sure wish discount abrasives was still in business, this could turn into a bunch of s---.

Happy dickering,

Bill

the confusion was the prices on Abrasives R Us on line site of $1.61 each  when on the phone Scott told me $2.00 each

industrialabrasives.com is the ones that said to me $1.83 each at 24

Bill can you check on line, what they charged you?? to confirm it yourself before you get the order?
if you got them for $1.61 I'm ordering before they change the site prices
someone's not watching the store if this the case..:D

Darren
what was your price and can you ck on line for your charges to confirm them?

Interesting..
