Cheapest knife website?

I'm just at the end of my rope sick of being called a freak by my family because I collect knives, so I am constantly pissed off nothing I can do about it except stay alone.

I didn't know anything about your troubles until I read this. I'm retired, but I recall being your age and at that point in life there can be a lot of stress and personal problems to deal with, I didn't like being 16 either, but life does get better with time. Get used to it, life is full of such hurdles/unpleasantries, and as we pass through these we build our character that builds our personalities and make us who we become. Don't sweat it, if its not going well at home, then spend some time here, get to know some of the people here and pursue your hobby. Knives are an excellent hobby.

Welcome aboard here and enjoy, after some time you will have lots of knives!

International shipping is rediculously expensive. I don't know how some of these shops can offer such inexpensive shipping.

RedDevil has had words with me about some of my posting in the past. yes at some of his saying I was mad but the others I listen to him. He is not trying to start with anyone. all he is trying to do is fix the wording on what you are saying because some people have there young children on these forms to help them learn and they don't need to learn to talk like that. I respect him and I am glad he is here too. he tries to help everyone one that I can see. being in Canada is rough but it is your laws we are trying to obey. I use to ship switchblade to your country until I found out they where not allowed. boy did I stop that in a hurry. I try not to break any laws. I wish you luck. there is a heck of lot of good people and dealers here on this board. please don't cut off your nose In spite of your tongue.

Thanks for being understanding Richard, and I really appreciate your kind words. You're right, we want to keep this place as friendly to any and everyone possible. Vulgar language ruins the experience for many registered and paying members alike. At the risk of turning this thread into a virtual huggathon, I'll say that we have all or will soon run into people that cannot understand or do not agree with the common folding knife, pocket knife, or fixed blade as a tool. It just does not compute. The best we can do, seeing as how we cannot change other people is to reflect inwards and act responsibly with the ability to own and use tools. As long as you aren't hurting anyone (yourself included), collect what you like. Responsibility is the key, as with many situations in life.

Richard makes another good point in that there are a ton of good people on here. It's hard to put a value on the overwhelming kindness, generosity, and overall helpful nature of the people that frequent this place. I've seen a lot of kindness shown here, emotional support for folks in their darkest hours, and all without ever asking anything in return other than maybe paying it forward and helping other folks in their own travels through life. If you decide to stick around, you might learn a thing or two as we all have, you may actually make some great friends as most of us have.

I loved being 16.... and I collected guns.... :D Don't wallow in self pity mate, people here have been pretty much nothing but helpful to you (note the bit about please and thankyou going a long way) even though you needed a little push toward the rules of the house (and that is what this is, another persons "house" that is open to us. So the "His House His Rules" theory applies). There are lots of teenagers on here (and some of us who never grew up totally ;) ) and they get along just fine, don't have a dummy spit and sook away just because you had a rocky start, you can still do just fine here, how you reack NOW will define that for you though.

so in your country a 16 year old can buy a knife on his own and the dealer is not breaking the law?? it use to be like that in Florida but they change is so 18 or older.

I'm looking for the cheapest possible place to get knives online (and don't say ebay) so far i think bladehq is cheapest but if you guys know of any websites that sell for even cheaper that would be great.

OP - wanted to give you a hand. I'm Canadian, have been buying knives in Ontario since before I was 16 - almost 25 years now. I've learned a bit - buying both in rural towns and big cities from all over the world. You know that knives are tools, and should be handled with respect, or you would not be here.

If you haven't bought from non-Canadian locations before, best thing to do is keep the cost below $100 or duty will eat up another 30% or more, depending on the method of shipping. Nothing like that surprise when the knife shows up at your door and Canada Post asks for a credit card.

My advice... get family support to buy from a forum, used, to learn what you like - once you know what you like, buy new. For popular folders and fixed blades, check out caledon2 on the big auction site - the cost, when you consider the impacts of shipping and duty are hard to beat for new blades -

If you must buy new, buy Canadian if you can, or buy from a Canadian reseller - let them eat the duty, and support Canadian business. Lots of On-line Canadian resellers to shop - google is your friend - there's no "Cheapest Website" - as in most things... it depends what you want as to where the deal is - you have to shop.

Good luck with your purchases - not sure if you have many knives yet, but don't forget that sharpening is just as fun buying - buy some beater knives, and good sharpening gear, and practice up before buying large-value knives. Take the time to learn the characteristics of different metals, and how to sharpen the more difficult shaped knives.

.... must be over 16 now. That only came into effect about 5yrs ago. Of course there is no age limit on OWNING a knife, just RETAIL purchase.
