Cheapskates: what are you eyeing for 2023?

Looked for Terava 140, got Terava 140. 63CA$ for that thick bar of steel.

Other than that? I'm waiting for the Spyderco Endura 4 to be on sale at 95CA$ again (it was during the new year sale but I hesitated at the last moment, but you can call it self control) so it fits my hard limit.

I'm getting this Case trapper, I love this cayenne color.

You're all gonna laugh at me but I've been beating the snot out of a Yukon Gear XL Hunting Knife from Canadian Tire. I paid $12 something when it was on sale a few years ago and it's taken some hellabuse. Cheap as borscht 420 stainless, black coating was flaking off in the blister pack, goofy looking rubber / plastic handle but the blade shape and price drew me in. I ended up getting a second one now as a spare. Seems to be the perfect size fixed blade for my liking.
Baton's quite well, lots of sparks off a ferro rod and it's quite a comfy knife to use.

Well... I didn't have anything planned, but I subscribe to a couple of deal spotting venues and they got me. Don't worry mods... I know deal spotting is frowned on here (breaking rules, maybe?) so no mention of the sites. One of them found a deal on a second line of knives from a large Chinese manufacturer that was too much for me to resist. The line is closing out, and they manufacturer is quitting that line to concentrate in their up line.

Nothing spectacular, but plenty of value for work folders. All blades 3" and up, some on bearings, all with micarta handles. Surprisingly good designs, good handles and great colors. All blades are Chinese D2 that claims to be (as they all do!) to be in the hardness range of 59-60. The knives reviewed well and the "spotter" had actually used them, not just "unboxed them". The knives started out at +/- $39 and went down to $28. His "spot" on the sight had all of that brand at 50% off. Got 6 knives with free shipping for about $95 plus tax. Free shipping.

That sale lasted about 48 hours and every last knife was sold! No doubt I will use a couple of them myself, but also no doubt some of my amigos have their birthdays and other special event days covered with a new knife!

Makes a tightwad feel mighty good! (Cheapskate member #25, LOL..)

I just ordered a Vosteed Raccoon. Direct from them was like $65 or so? I've heard good things so I figured why not.

I recently picked up the flipper version of the Vosteed Nightshade. I just had it apart for inspection earlier this evening. Dollars to donuts, it was manufactured for them by Kizer. Overall, I'm happy with this one. The action and lock-up are great. The grind is good. I love the shape and angle. Now my only question is what color to dye the gray and white G10.

I don't know the technical boundaries for "cheapskate" but it's definitely a nice knife for the price.

Picked up a MicroTech Ultratech OTF last month. I have two customs ordered, one from Tim Olt, one from Rick Menefee. Other than those, it's gonna be up to what catches my eye. I really am slowing down though, and might not get much more in the way of knives this year.

In 2023, I am looking to keep, not not break or lose, my Leatherman Wave. That is a pretty conservative ("cheap") strategy.

If I win some lottery, I might buy a tricked-out CRK Sebenza.; fancy limited-edition, handle embellishment and Damascus blade, that sort of thing.

Good morning fellas, the only thing I've got planned to buy is a Kershaw link. I already have one but the new one has upgraded s30 steel blade with aluminum scales and now they make them in black. 3.25 inch blade it's got a nice belly to it and it's pretty cheap , and I'm a fan of the speed safe ken onion designed opening system $96 at KC other than that I think I have enough knives for now.

Here she is, in all her glory.
To clarify, I bought a second one because I wanted to see what the tang was like. I ran a magnet and it stopped a 1/4 way down and then picked up something metal where the green part is thickest on the handle.

O Canadian Tire.
Though, I did get my Buck 110LT there for 16CA$. They had the Buck 112 slim on clearance early 2022, but one Buck knife is enough for me.

Ordered one yesterday.
Great let me know what ya think. I will be ordering too because of course no place has them around me. Looks like a decent choice for tactical/defense and not too long a blade. Hope the kydex sheath is sturdy. Like the tension adj.
