Cheat sheets

Maybe a few diagrams of simple deadfall triggers and snares?
self bows for food too.
Some tips on shelter construction, i.e, don't make too big a space to warm up with your body, and insulate it well. For cold nights bury some rocks heated by the fire under your browse bed.
Edible plants for the area.
To me fire and shelter are easy, water you have or you don't. (rainwater catchers, there's another.)
Food is the one thing I would be really worried about if lost for a few days.
You could probably get away with a smaller font and fit more on one side, laminated paper could get thick fast. The more info you can fit, the better.
The first few pages should be beginner stuff to get you calm, like you have. Even experienced outdoorsy types can panic when they get lost.

This looks familiar?

I see that you're confused, so I'll clear it up. This was the first thread about the cheat sheets. The other was a follow-up to show how the project was progressing and to again ask for a bit of help from my BF brethren.

Probably, it should have been a continuation of this thread, mea culpa.

I find it interesting, though, after going back over both threads, that the only post you made could be interpreted as criticism.

I went looking for the other "The Road" thread. I guess I didn't know older threads just get pushed off. Yet people just post new threads that have already have been posted and talked about then get pushed off for the "newer" threads that have to be retalked, rehashed about same stuff.

Well than I guess you should post a complaint about that in an appropriate thread.

This is clearly a progress thread of Doc's kit.

He is looing for suggestions not bellyaching over people asking the same question in different thread.

Please don't take offense to this, I am just looking out for my G.P.;)

Now back to the topic.

I still want you to squeaze a reynolds oven bag in there for water collection:D

The longer you're here, the more you'll learn about repetition. The same topics get posted time after time, what with new people coming, some older people going (older in the sense of time spent here).

It does get tiring, at times, but on the other hand, should not fire making techniques be discussed with new members, just because there's been a gazillion previous posts about it? I don't think there's an easy answer, except grin and bear it. :D

If you really insist, GS, I know where you can stick a Reynolds oven bag.
