Check out my wood

Nice! I really dig leaf sprung rigs, especially if they started out as IFS.

Those came out really nice! Any idea on what you are going to finish it with? I love deep red finish on wood it just makes it look perfect!

Can't wait to see the final update!

How did you get the corners so nice. Did you just use a router? What size bit? I am working on a cocobolo set right now and need to do the edges.

I really think I want to keep them light in color so maybe a very light stain or just some clear.

Sand paper, elbow grease, and a hobby rasp. I did use my 1" Harbor freight belt sander but very little just to get a lot of material off in places.

Yep me too. It's got the entire drivetrain from a 1992 Dodge W250, 12v Cummins included. :D

Not much into leafs as I'm a rock guy (not knockin em'...my buddies live by em') but the diesel transplant is COOL! Be safe out there.

Eh they're doing pretty good so far. I'm more into rocks as well but I always find myself playin in the mud. I'm actually in the planning stages of a linked rockwelled tube buggy.

Thanks for all the complIments guys. I'll try and get some more pics of the current progress tonight when I get off.

The SAT/ACT grammarian in me cringes at "complements." I'm just gonna go back to staring at the knife handles...

Are you gonna strip it? I think if you gave it a good cliching, and got your etch to match the grain pattern in that oak, that would look phenomenal...

Well I never claimed to be good at spelling, that's just what my iPhone put there. Not sure about the stripping I think I'll just use it until more of the coating wears off then I'll think about stripping it.

So how much did you say those were again? :D Just start making them in larger batches and upgrade to a membership that lets you sell them.

Nice scales and rig looks very similar to mine! but mines a pickup :)

Those are coming along really nice! How much time do you think you have invested in them total?

Looking good. I like that the wood has a nice simple, pretty grain. Are you going to oil or stain them?
