Here's my 21" Bura Chitlangi, Les Baer Concept V .45acp, and my SOG pentagon elite II folder. Ahh, now that's livin!:D

 Rob- Have things gotten that bad in the "Pine Tree" state that you pack that kind of weapony around? Must be the influx of "flatlanders".;)

Mike,
You never know what will pop up in those big pine trees.;) :p The Maine woods are a wonderful place to play, but it never hurts to be prepared!

Rob, I can not wait to see that LesBaer in person. They are some beautiful hanguns. Great attention to detail in their making. Love that Chitlangi!! I am looking forward to the NE Konvention!!!

ArchAngel- Those woods were my playground. It would have been nice to have a 20" AK when I met some "coy-dogs" oneday when I was a kid. That day taught me a lesson. I ALWAYS GO ARMED! The Army taught me another " Carry what you need to get the job done.";)

Loaded for bear, huh? Well, a little light for bear...the cougar's where I live every once in awhile attack someone...don't know why...testing the genes, I guess. The Khukuris are the first blades I've ever held that convince me I would win. I have a 8" tanto black Kabar, and a US mil spec fighting knife...better than nothing, but leaving me with the feeling of a crap shoot. There's a cougar stuffed in the local plumber's shop that weighs 160 pounds.

I think the most likely scenareo with the Les Baer, the Chitlangi, and the Sog are some fools would see them and decide to take them away from you.

This would give you the opportunity to erradicate their obviously deficient genes from the human pool forever. A public service. The bark of the Les Baer would be the announcement.

Read the story of the farmer who killed a bear with his khukuri -- not something I'd care to try personally but a real life demo of what the knife is capable of doing.

A very nice set of weapons. If I had a digital camera I'd take a picture of a khuk and a bag of rocks. :)

My picture would be of one of my .41's, or the hand customized Ruger single action .45 Colt (modified bird's head grip done by me before Ruger did), with my Chitlangi, and my M1A I guess.

I could see the Khukuri and a wheelgun as comrades for a long time.

I remind all of you, there are very few handguns truly 'bear medicine." And if you want to take a mountain range grizzly with a Khukuri...it is a nice day to die.

I'm mostly kidding too. I just thought I'd remind admirers of semi auto handguns not many rounds have sufficient energy to dump a bruin.

If you had a khukuri, you'd always have a chance. What a knife. What is interesting to me is how many hi tech using people take the old with the new and love the Khukuri too. I think that is great. There's the Les Baer Super duper and there's the 500+ year old knife design. And they look good together!

I see there's a lot of fans of the old .45acp Good round. The only semi auto I own is the 1911.

munk, not old enough to be so fussy
and not old enough to wise either.

another nice combo N2S!:)

What khuk is that BTW?

and Darwin would smile at natural selection in action:D

WOuldn't want to try it with ANY handgun unless I had to, but you're right a semi-auto wouldn't be the way to go. Maybe a hotly loaded .454 Casull?

Hey we're back on bears again!!:D

Nice!! I really like the lines on that M43--it seems to have a bigger handle than some I've seen pics of, and also a more aggressively pointy tip, which I like:)

Around these parts, people who carry handguns to use as bear repellent file the front sights off nice and smooth before they go afield.

That way it won't cause as much tissue damage when the bear shoves it up their keester. ;)
