Check out THIS carry combo baby!! PIX!

I was going to say the Super Salyan would take out a grizzly with no problems. Just drop it on one point first from a tall enough tree, but who's going to to carry it up that high? Mine is only 11/16ths inch thick at the spine - almost but not quite 3/4 inch.

I think Cold Steel has the inexpensive 'Bushman' blade, the one with the shovel neck collar so you can mount a handle on it. The blade isn't very thick, but something sharp on the end of a stick always seemed better than just a knife, as long as I'm not the one getting that close. Dropping a heavy torpedo from a tree is better. There really isn't a good way to deal with all that primal fury and impossible strength.

Munk,
You have yet to learn about finesse. (I am from Texas...we know about these things. ) Samurai Dave

Stampeding a herd of 2000 Long Horn cattle over the bear would work too.

That will work fine, but how do we get a submarine up a tree? n2s

...well, the Russians did make a flying boat...but i think a better question is; how do you get a bear to stand under a tree with a submarine in it?

Wish I could carry this beautiful 18oz. 18" Bura GS, but it's tough enough to fit all that other stuff in my pockets when I wear shorts in the summer. I left the Endura closed as to not embarrass it compared to the GS. I used to be a 1911 shooter but the Glock's simplicity took me over. 10 rounds of 10mm in that little package has a beauty all its own.

Flashlight - Surefire 6Z. About the same light as a 4D-cell Maglight in that small package, but batteries only last about an hour.

For a moment I thought it was some sort of stungun...like an arc of electricity would shoot out one end or something :P

Flashlight... I thought it was either an heavy duty yawara stick or a suppressor for the Glock (Independent contractor huh?).

Mpsi,

Nice rig:) Hey is that a glock 27? I carry one of those with an internal laser sight:cool: in cold weather. For warmer carry I've been carrying my Taurus 850 Titanium 5-shot .38 +P rated. Its like Uncle's antique .38 meets the terminitor:D

G29 in 10mm, both winter and summer. No .40 short & weak for me, thanks

Yep, If I had actually READ your post I would have noticed you said 10mm already!:o

What kind of concealment rig/clothing do you need to wear to conceal that Glock in hot weather---I like my Glock, but its fat and blocky IMO as carry guns go.

That little gun must buck pretty hard with those rounds. I used to have a Colt Delta Elite in 10mm back in high school (well, not IN high school--they frowned on that for some reason;))and liked the caliber quite a bit--beefy!!

Factory loadings that take advantage of the 10mm's power used to be few to non-existant. I don't know if that's changed today. As a handloading proposition, the 10 is one of the most versatile and interesting auto loading cartridges around. Too bad the FBI changed the power requirement, inviting the 40 to steal the market. There's a lot of new hybrids on the block, and some bottle necks, but for ease and simplicity the 10 is still the way to go to better/match .357 power and with heavier slugs and larger diameter. The best round I never owned.

A net.friend told me once that all my discussion eventually turned to guns... I couldn't contradict him...

10mm factory rounds are still pretty much underloaded. I've heard the only decent major manufacturer round is the Winchester 175gr Silvertip, and even that has reputedly been getting weaker lately. I use Georgia Arms ammo, 155gr JHP at 1375fps in a full-size pistol, a little less out of the G29. Plenty hot but not abusive. Recoil is there, deal with it :D

The 10mm is definitely versatile, and I do some of my own reloading, mostly for practice and competition loads. For IPSC (action shooting matches) I use a 200 gr bullet at about 850fps, a total softball load. Feels like a 9mm or smaller, especially in a fullsize Glock or 1911 frame. And on the top end there's guys on the glocktalk.com 10mm boards loading 220gr bullets at 1300fps or more. And the one guy using 10mm to launch 90gr bullets at close to 3000fps from a 16" carbine...

I just switched over to hot-weather carry here. Basically it is pocket carry, in the right front big pocket of my cargo shorts. I sew a little velcro to the pocket mouth so it stays closed. People carry so much big stuff there days (phones, pagers, PDAs) that it doesn't look out of place, luckily I am a big guy. The pistol does wear away the pocket lining, I need to find a local sarki to get some good leather lining into the pocket to make it more durable. As there is no holster, I don't carry loaded, just with a full mag inserted. I practice drawing and racking the slide. It is slower than regular carry but better than a sharp stick. Spare mag and flashlight in the left cargo pocket balance the load.

Uncle - it's a nice package but hard to find ammo for in the wild world. The 3V lithium batteries for the flashlight are expensive enough here, I'd hate to see what they cost in Nepal, if available at all

The Kami's should be hammering out a few AK47's. "The AK To The Royal Court."

What are the gun laws in Nepal? India?

munk

I know in Pakastan, from the article I read in ???, that full auto AK's are the special at every "Store on the corner" for less than $50 American. The article didnt cover India, but I figure that it cant be too hard to get anything. With China on one side and the former Soviet Union to the north they should at least be able to get some older Moisen Nagants, Enfields or T36 tanks. Heyll with the terrain as it is you could sneak in a entire Armored Batallion and nobody would know.

The Kamis have my full permission to build a freaking Howitzer if they want to. Just as long as they make sure to put a magic mirror polish on it to blind the Maoists before they turn'em into charpi filling.

Warm weather carry. Glock 26 and Spidey. Only out of my cargo shorts pocket long enough to take a picture. Still warm.

Internal laser (an affectation, almost never used) and Tritium night sights (good idea).

The holster (a Georgia requirement for concealed carry) blocks the outline of the pistol.
