Outstanding videos and pics!

I like that split stick deadfall, I'm gonna give it a whirl, looks easy enough.

Thanks for sharing and keep them coming!

Great stuff RR. Knowledge is good. Sharing what you know is even better.

I like 'em.
When do you show how to field dress a koala? :D

Lookin forward to seeing more.

Peter

good looking videos, i like how you organized them (showing the trap, then explaining the trap). very nice and succinct

THanks for the kind words guys... I know there's not anything ground breaking about the techniques shown, and we threw the traps together rather quickly while my buddys daughter was napping, but it sure is fun. Incidentally the split stick deadfall is something that I don't hear much about but in terms of ease of manufacture, and ease of setting they can't be beat IMO..I've smashed my fingers so many times setting figure 4's but this one is pretty safe...and it can be pretty sensitive as well

John,

Good job. I watch way too many of these how to vids on YouTube (my New Years resolution is less computer more outdoors...we'll see how long that lasts). On of my biggest criticisms is that the vids are backwards. Way too much time spent on the set up and slowly photographing every aspect of the tool, trap, etc. until you get to the good stuff (maybe they were influenced by porn movies?...not that I have ever watched any, but I know a guy who knows a guy who told him that.....)

You show the trap in operation right at the beginning. This is what people are interested in, so what not shown them right off the bat? You then show the details of trap's trigger. You explain the whole thing in a little over a minute, which is about the average attention span right now.

My only questions is whether or not the cute little koala was humanely killed before he was mounted on the stick? ;)

MBTull,

THanks for the kind words and feedback..it's much appreciated... we're in the process of making a website of vids and reviews and info. and fun stuff amd these where te sample vids, it just seemed like that way of demonstrating and explaining flowed.

I've had a couple of questions about Edmund (the stunt koala)so to clear it up he volunteers because we keep him addicted to eucalyptus leaves and give him a hit everytime he lets us trap him...he was a wreck when we first found him passed out in his own excrement outside a little koala topless bar...we're giving him a chance to make something of himself "Jack ass style" he's now know as the johnny knoxville of the marsupial world.

John's efforts earned him the endorsement of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Koalas. Not only did he save Edmund from the moral degradation associated with a "Koala Club," he cleaned him up and helped him obtain gainful employment. That's why they call him "Rescue Reilly." He has not only our endorsement, we have this year nominated him for our annual Eucalyptus Award, for efforts on behalf of marsupials everywhere. Thank you RR.

Your web site plans sound great. When I am not out saving marsupials, I play around with airguns, archery and slingshots. I would enjoy contributing to your site if you think that is appropriate. Just let me know, I have articles on getting started in traditional archery, Crosman 1377 airguns and Trumark slingshots.
