check out this handsome idiot.....

Good stuff John, hey if you want me to put up some knife reviews I would be more than happy, let me know what ya think. I have kept all the pictures from past reviews and I even have most of the reviews saved so I can access them pretty fast.

Awesome videos...good work John. I like that trap also..I think its the easiest to set up..and you can play with the sensitivity..

You did a good job. I'm a subscriber. Video is alot of fun.

The magic is in the editing. I don't worry anymore about getting things in one clean take. I mess up all the time speaking so I just pause, count to five in my head and pick up where I left off. That way it makes it easy to edit out the mis-speaks.

Another thing I've found helpful is to never use a hand held camera. All of my early videos were filmed with a hand held and it can be distracting at times. I've started using a simple aluminum mono-pod (aluminum tent poles with a camera mount on top) that I can stake the camera into the ground with when filming alone or use resting on the ground if filming something else. On my solo trip video I used a green stick carved down to screw into the mount on the camera. The video quality goes way up.

Trap videos get alot of play on YT. My bird trap vid is now up to 24,000+ and it took me about a half hour to film. Mac

Awesome stuff guys... Thankyou for the kind words....Pict great advice there...much appreciated, Also these were shot with a small digital camera that has a 4 minute video capability so the quality is lower than if we used an actual video camera.

If you want to scan it and post it - that would be great - or simply photo the drawing. I appreciate the mail offer - I don't want to be too much of a pain in the rump! ;)

Nice videos John. I learned something today! It's a great day! Seriously. I didn't know how to make either of those and I am sure I could after seeing the videos. Now I need to get out and practice.

Rocky I'm so glad...Good deal There'll be plenty more coming down the pike...(hopefully with better quality and less stuttering)

Good job John, I was wondering did you use that Scandi ground Camp Master to make those traps? Doug

John, that was great stuff. A very good way to begin.

The koala cracked me up. :D

I can see a version of this like "Tool Time" from Home Improvement. You need a really hot animal handler to help you. :D

Seriously though - what was the necker you had as well.

Good job!

DP,

The trap in the vids where not made using the scandi camp master...Although it has allot of trap time on it..It's a great blade..

CMDR,
The necker in the pic is the ner Kabar Becker necker...It was the only tool used to make the trap shown....I like it a bunch...I just wish it didn't have that coating on it, and that the handle was a tad longer, and the blade was a tad shorter...
