Check out this WSK Copy

snstnab, you'd be a lot easier to follow if you would write it all in one post instead of posting each fragment of a sentence separately.

With all this talk about the Paratraxx, I still don't see a picture of one here. Just as well. The Paratraxx has come up before. Not only is it made of cheap materials, the fit & finish are nothing to brag about, either. It has been known to self-destruct under minimal stress, also.

I posted the pic and some can see the image and some can't. I wasn't doing a review of it or endorsing it. Just wondering what people thought of the design and I'm sure most knives are spoke about more than once.

Ok, since the WSK has come up quite a bit recently, somebody explain to me why this thing is shaped the way it is. At its size, it sure won't make a great chopper, ok the front part is probably good for field dressing but it is very far out which makes me doubt you have much control left and the saw on top makes the least sense to me. At this saw length you should be much faster batoning the blade through anything....ooops, forgot, can't baton because the saw will rip the baton to shreds in no time . Being among the uninitiated, you couldn't pay me money to take this to the woods....

I still can not see the original photo. It appears as a red X. When I cut and paste the URL into my address box I get the message below.

Here is a photo of the Paratraxx.

The little knife hides in the handle of the big one.

It's closer to the origional sketch that Tom Brown made than the Beck designed model.mind you the Beck is considered to be the pinicle of the design.I have never handled one but the reviews are consistantly great.maybe I'll get the predator some day since it's closest to the origional Beck design.

Just my opinion, but I think the WSK is one of the goofiest looking knives ever. I just don't understand all the attention.

Looks like it wasn't even worth mentioning. I guess the WSK is an outcast design and causes a big stir in this forum. Couger Allen said I was advertising. So please don't respond to this thread anymore. Just intended to talk about knives.

I would like a WSK for camping and such. I think you need to think outside the box to envision all the uses. I certainly don't think it replaces anything original, but I do think it looks as if would be handy around the campfire. I personally like the look of Daniel Koster WSK best.

I don't think it is an outcast design at all. In fact, there are many people that collect knives in the WSK style.

I didn't get to see the post that was deleted, but my guess would be that there was some mention of a knife that could be purchased. If so, that's a nay-nay.

Snstdnab...yeah...don't take it too personally. There are some good moderators here, and they are just being careful about the forums is all. I have been following the WSK since Dave Beck was still in business. I love the design, but I also respect other people's opinion of the knife as well (whether I agree or not). I have used the WSK in the wilderness many times and found it to be of great use. I feel that customs are the way to go with this design though.

Things like the Paratraxx...pieces of crap. Simple and sweet. There was a lot of talk about the Paratraxx in the past on the forums. If you are interested you could check'em out through the search option. May take a bit of searching though. I feel that just by looking at that knife, you can tell it is cheap. I remember being frantic about getting a WSK years back, and I saw the Paratraxx and just couldn't shake the "flea market" feel I got when I looked at it. Thats why I went for TOPS version instead. If I had been smart I would have hit Beck up, but I was desparate to try this knife style out and spent my dough on TOPS tracker. Then by the time I got money saved up again, Dave stopped making the knife, and there is no way in Hades I am paying 1500+ for a knife like that.

Therefore, I bought Roger Linger's WSK. Saving my money for some other custom's of the similar WSK style. Some good ones circulating these days.
I can tell you have a true love for this design, much like myself. KEEP COLLECTING!!
A serious and friendly post response from -Damion

If you are really a WSK nut don't leave out some new makers of this design, Schanz(i hope i didn't misspell) and Mark Terrell and there is a new maker out here Tim Horan out of Chicago area that are making great versions. These guys definetly merit mention in this blade style.
