Check out this WSK Copy

I think the Hunted movie deffinatly gave WSK style knives some great publicity, but there are alot of knives in movies that dont make it. I think the fact that its a great knife style and all its features are functional makes it more desireable. Its no fantasy knife crap, its a lean mean survival machine!

Movies can definitely pique people's interest in a design, but that design will have to have merit if it is going to have lasting power. The WSK has had lasting power.

How long did the popularity of Rambo-style Sawback survival knives last? (only other movie knife phenomenon I know of)

Still going.

How many, other than Rambo, had a quality knife as a focal point of the movie?

Come on Rat!!! Don't you remember that quality knife that was used and made famous in the movie "Cobra" with Stallone? hahaha!!! I hope there is someone out there who gets this reference.

Regarding the Beck WSK and its popularity, it was famous way before 'The Hunted' in the survival community, particularly that of the Tracker School. This thing has been circulating for some time. But yes, 'The Hunted' sky rocketed the design into the mainstream.

SNSTDNAB, glad to hear you are checking out Mr. Horan. Looks like some quality craftsmanship. I envy your collection abilities. I have to save years between my purchases.

The difference between the Rambo craze and the Tracker variants is that most Rambo knives were wall-hangers.

Trackers or WSKs are specialized, and I doubt most of us would use their capabilities in any way that would make them worth the cost and trouble of trying. But evidently, there is a community of interest that does appreciate the techniques they make possible.

Any way you put it's not a knife that has been around for a hundred years, so obviously there's going to be alot of discussion as to whether or not it's a good design. Bottom line is if you've ever held an honest to goodness DAVE BECK in your hand and looked at the craftsmanship behind it and understand the complexity of it, then you could really appreciate it for what it is. I've used alot of knives for many tasks and have to say this is where it's at.

AIRBORNE!!!

I am with you on that. Dave Beck makes hands down the best WSK knife. Its a shame for alot of people he isnt makeing them anymore. There is nothing like a Beck wsk, none of the other knives hold a candle to his.

How does the Red scorpion 6 wsk stack up against it's custom bretheren?I have a Tracker that I gave a face-lift to and I love it.I'm a big fan of this design and would like to try some of the others to see for myself how they feel.
