I'm posting this due to prompting in this thread.

Back on 7/12 I ordered a BRKT Mini Canadian from Cherokee Outpost. I did this because they had it in a handle material that I hadn't seen anywhere else.

Anyway, after about a week went by with no notification of the order, I checked my account on their website and saw that the order is pending. For some reason, it's listed as awaiting payment confirmation. Which I thought was odd. So I sent an email to the customer support email address asking for more information.

A few days later I still hadn't gotten a response, so I tried to call their customer support number. 1-888-564-8375 It has apparently been disconnected.

So I sent them an email again, asking if anyone was at the other end of their website. That was a few days ago. Still no response.

So I just ordered the knife from DLT Trading Company, and got excellent customer service.

My recommendation is to stay away from Cherokee until they start to at least answer their emails. If I can ever get hold of someone over there, I'll cancel that order. Hopefully I don't end up with two knives.

I never had any dealings with them and I'll be hesitant to now. Thanks for that. I know you said you dislike doing this but, look at it this way, if the company is not reputable, they'll either go out of business or they'll change themselves to be reputable. Either way...it's a win/win for them and us.

While I don;t want to mention (here in your thread) the company name that burned so many of us, if you search my name in this forum you'll find it. THAT company at least had the huevos to enter into the fray and try to make amends, though I don;t think they succeeded 100%. Anyway, I haven;t ordered from them since but I've been to their website and I suspect they're trying to do better now.

If you end up getting two mini-C's, Bulgron, let me know. I might want to buy one of them from you. The exact same thing happened to another forum member who ended up with two mini-Canadians...... I bought the one he didn;t want and gave it to my daughter for Valentine's Day. I like it so much Dad needs one of his own!!! (((:D)))

lol! Well, I'll keep that in mind, Stretch. I'm getting the feeling that Cherokee Outpost might be out of business and simply hasn't shutdown their website. We'll see.

Cherokee outpost is a bummer. You pay for knives they don't have, you wait and wait, then you call and they try to switch you to a different knife. They play the ebay feed back game very well.

Hi everyone, Is there anyone out there who has been ripped off by cherokee outpost. If you have please email me at ninjakanji@yahoo.com. Here is my story on what they did to me.
Thanks.

Credit Card Fraud
To all the people who have been screwed by Bobby and Teresa Timmons of "Cherokee Outpost", this is for you. I am writing to everyone, so there will be no more victims at the hands of www.cherokeeoutpost.com. How many of you have done business with Cherokee Outpost, and got a raw deal? Sadly to say, I am one of them. I met Bobby and Teresa Timmons at a local market in 2006. I talked with Timmons and decided from my observation that he was an honest man. So, I purchased some items on my credit card. The following week I received what was promised. So I decided that Cherokee Outpost would help me build a business for my daughter, my son-in-law, and my grandchild.
But as the weeks progressed, what unfolded was a LIVING NIGHTMARE that progressed up to this very day. The next order I made was through Timmons' website. I purchased a large amount of knives and swords, that would have been enough to start a small business for me. A few days later, I received a call from Timmons saying my order would be delayed, because of Christmas rush. I was very understanding, actually TOO UNDERSTANDING. Timmons said over the phone, like he has done in other situations, I am sure, that he would send me some FREE gifts for the delay of my order. He asked if anyone would be there to sign for them. I told him yes. Like promised, the free gifts did come. But, that would be the ONLY thing that I would ever receive. Let me add, I forgot about the misery and heartache. He threw that in for free, also. As the months progressed, to my disgust and total outrage, my two credit cards had charges of over $20,000 on them. I called Timmons 15-20 times. He said that this was a computer error and that it would be fixed. He also assured me that my order was on the way. Like a FOOL, I believed him. As Christmas approached, still no order. Just some more cheap, free gifts, and empty promises by Timmons. We made it into the new year, still no order.
Then one day, I went to my mailbox and there was a large yellow envelope inside full of Timmons' lies. It was statements from UPS and the credit card companies saying that they had my verified signature and that I had received my orders. But, no matter how much I disputed these charges, nothing was done by Timmons' to fix the problem. Then one night, I received a phone call from my son-in-law. He had been researching all the information that I had on Cherokee Outpost. We desperately tried to figure out how we could prove our case. To my surprise, my son-in-law had figured something out. The large orders in which we made, Timmons' had overlooked one small detail in his little scheme. The small FREE gifts that were mailed through UPS didn't match the weight of the actual large orders made on www.cherokeeoutpost.com. This was the beginning of justice being served upon Timmons. Up onto the present day, we have recovered over $7,000 from one credit card. We are still disputing the other charges on the other credit card. I am happy to say that things are looking good. I know there are people out there who have been cheated in this SAME way. Please BEWARE of giving out your credit card number. Once you do this, there is no stopping and no telling what people like the Timmons' will do to honest, hard working people like us. A word to the wise, if something sounds too good to be true, then IT PROBABLY IS.
As in response to, Karsten Hansen's comment, "I am not the only one to be screwed over by Cherokee Outpost", the only way that we are going to stop people like the Timmons' and see them behind bars, where they belong, is for hard-working people like us, is to NOT lay down and give up. But, to keep fighting and to see that these low-lifes never make their living by ripping people off on the Internet.
Oh yeah, Teresa, I know you are dying to write out a response to this comment. Let's go ahead and see how many lies you can make up like these that you wrote to my credit card company!

To Whom it may Concern,
"I am responding to File Number 06138956. I am sorry to say that I am in disagreement with this complaint. I have included copies of all the transactions, with proof of shipping and delivery and signatures as to who actually sign for the items. If you need anything further please feel free to contact me at anytime."
Thank You
Teresa Timmons (Owner)
Cherokee Outpost

This is an actual letter that was sent to my credit card company written by Teresa Timmons owner of Cherokee Outpost. By the way, have you noticed Bobby Timmons' name is no where to be found on the letter. That's because he hides behind a woman because he is such a "real man."

Oh, P.S., to Bobby and Teresa Timmons, who I know will read this, I am sorry guys, but you won't be paying off your house or buying your new cars on my credit cards. If I have anything to do with it, you will be wearing those silver braclets, soon. You know the ones with the chains in the middle? HAHA.
Signed,
J.S., J.F., J.F., and R.F. Dragonhoshidefense.com

Thanks very much for your support.

I was also screwed by them. I bought a knife on ebay that was supposed to have S30V steel blade, well after waiting almost 3 months, they finally sent my knife, unfortunately not with the blade steel I ordered but a lesser steel. After another 6 months of false promises and lies to make good on my purchase I finally just gave up. I hope everyone who got screwed gets their money back and then they go out of business so that this crap doesn't happen to anyone else. And at the very least anyone thinking of ordering from them reads this thread and takes their hard earned money else where.

They tried to screw me out of 3 Becker BK7's but after threating to report them to the district attorney I was promptly issued a refund.

:thumbdn:The Cherokee Outpost.com is a lie and joke. The so called Bobby Timmons :jerkit: is a liar, he can't even use his real name. His real name is Bobby Hardee of South Carolina. Use extreme caution, you will find this individual lurking at gun shows, flea markets, and knife shows. He is a very smooth talker. He could probably talk the Devil into signing over Hell to him. haha. He is a professional con-artist. He has stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars from people over the years. I know this because I have talked to the victims personally. His physically appearance is 6ft 5in (around) and around 300 pounds. He resembles the WWE wrestler, "The Big Show." He uses "Cherokee Outpost", "Classic Automatics", and "Consolidated Wholesale" as the names of his business'. I will post more as my investigation goes on. Thanks.

I was going through some ancient emails today and came across some correspondence from Bobby at Cherokee Outpost. Remembering the deal nettled me so much I had to dredge up this three year old thread to vent in!

I found a Cold Steel Pro-Lite folder on Bobby's eBay store that was a good price. I ordered one from him, then started waiting eagerly for my new knife to arrive. After a week or so, I was told that the knife was out of stock. Awhile later, it was shipped, or not shipped but was going to be, or some such thing. After waiting another few weeks, I emailed again asking for a refund. I was told they'd be happy to refund me my money, if I'd just give them a call. I did, and talked to ol' Bobby hisself.

Seems things weren't going so well for the Bobster. In fact, he was doing so poorly that he was going into the hospital for a kidney transplant. Or maybe it was a spleen, or a brain -- can't remember right now. I understood completely, wished him well, and told him I'd wait to get my money back until he was out and on his feet again.

It's been 4 years now. I wonder how his new appendix is doing......

While it was only $45 or so I lost, it's irritated me for years now. Glad I could get this off my chest!
