Looks like I am resurrecting an older thread here, but my recent experience reflects Chestnut Ridge Knife Shop is not very customer friendly. 1) Their web site continues to reflect inventory on knife models they do not have in stock. 2) other than the ecommerce auto reply I received when I placed the order, they never communicated with me that the item I ordered was out of stock (after showing 2 in stock when I ordered). 3) I called and get a phone message that they are closed, and that they are only open a few days a week (they listed the days), and limited hours. I don't expect them to be open 24/7 but this is a business for heaven's sake. 4) I sent 2-3 emails over the course of time and never received the first response to one of them. 5) I called again, and was told only the "owner" could assist me, and he was not there. She found my order and said she would leave a message for him to either call or email me. I never heard from him. 6) I call back and the owner was not there, so I told the person (a different lady) just to cancel my order.
This was the absolute worst customer service I have experienced in years! The sad thing is, those I spoke with on the phone did not appear to care too much. If you have had a good experience with CRKS, good for you. But, seriously, too many red flags and negative comments over time (do some searches on this forum) for me. There are too many business's out there that want your business and work to earn it for me to spend my $$$ at place like this. I won't try it again.
(Yes, I know this is my first post. Been around here a while though. No, not a troll. Not speaking for anyone else, just me. And, yes, I did attempt to contact the vendor to address the issue first.)
