Horton, Saturday works best for me. Anybody else haver an opinion on which day is better to do dinner and drinks? If I get down on Friday, it will probably be after the show.
If you want the best deep dish in the USA, go to the original Uno Pizzeria downtown. It's the best deep dish in town. (Note that the UNO'S chain pizza sucks... it's not the same pizza you get at the original Uno's downtown Chicago) There's usually a line out the door. Go in and give them your name (use Jerry Busse or Amy-O .. it's a running joke to use famous names there) and ask how long. Usually 45-60 minutes wait. Then walk to the ESPN Zone where there are TV's everywhere around the bar or head another block to the Harley Store while your waiting.
I wholeheartedly agree with Porcupine. That is why I suggested Uno's, and it's gotta be the original. I've had Lou Malnottis, Giordanos, Connies, and other deep dish in the city. But nothing tops the original Uno's. And if you want thin crust you gotta go south side to Nick and Vito's.
Checked out that Sheraton on the Lake and Chicago river. It is a nice location. Unos is not too far of a walk from there, and if anyone gets a chance go grab an italian beef sandwich with hot peppers and fries from Al's Beef. The closest one to you will be on Ontario, it is a little west of you, but worth the walk or a short cab ride. Had it today, and it is the best beef I've ever had. That "Man vs. Food" show has it on in one of the episodes.
