Chicago Knife Works legit?

CKW is what it is. They are generally upfront about their slower processing/shipping times and have been responsive in the past when I've reached out for updates on orders. I have no issues with this if there is transparency, which there seems to be. There are great deals to be had from CKW if you're willing to wait. I've never not received an order from them and saved myself quite a bit of money over the years on account of having a little patience..

I've been ordering from WMK for years now also.. they have great deals/sales, numerous coupon codes, and consistently very quick shipping. I used to live ~40 min from them.. even the free USPS ground option used to be overnight shipping! I've moved, now I'm about an hour and 40 min away.. still a great option. I don't love how they've really embraced all the Chinese budget companies lately.. that they now sell Ganzo especially gives me the "ick".. but I can't really fault them for trying to make their business work (if people didn't buy it, they wouldn't be selling it, right?).. overall, WMK is a good company to do business with.
 
CKW is legit BUT definitely ordering from them seems funky. I ordered a Heretic Knives item from them and got confirmation but then there was a long delay in shipping. They claimed it was due to "high sales volume" but that seemed debatable at best. When I dialed up the contact and brought up cancelling the sale they suddenly got the item shipped out. The customer service seemed to be outsourced overseas based on my limited experience and it felt like they were taking orders for items they didn't actually have in stock then sourcing them via online wholesaler type resources. Just my best guess based on my recent experience but it was definitely not a point and click with no hassles type experience for me.
 
I've ordered a few times from them. One fairly recently. Fantastic deals, for sure! Customer service is iffy. Shipping is slow..

If you don't mind waiting for a bit, anywhere from a couple extra days to a full week in one case, you can save a lot of money with them.
 
My last order with them, a few months ago, waited a week with no shipping notification. Contacted customer service, which isnt easy, and was told their website was wrong, they dont have it in stock, but thought they might be able to ship it in a week. Decided to cancel the order instead.
 
I bought a Trailmaster from them a while back. Seemed like they were taking a long time to process the order but in the end it went alright. Just took longer than expected. They are a little different it seems but I’d buy from them again.
 
Just bought a $100 Kubey from them. Easy ordering, prompt communication and delivery within a week (all during the Christmas rush). Could not be be more satisfied.
