Cho - bloodletting notch?

Why does some of the Kukris don't really have a cho, like the kumar kobra? Is it possible the cho can be used to pop blisters or clean the grit out of the finger nails?
 
Actually, they do have the cho but it's enclosed. The kobra cho is generally called "eye of the dove" -- pariwa ko aka.
