Prayer offered for her healing and for the capture of the one who hit her.
Uncle, this may not sound serious until I relate an experience of my own here in Georgia, but it is possible that the driver couldn't see her.
One night, returning late from a job, my wife and I were driving down a four lane boulevard with lots of stores and lights. A black man was crossing the street, strolling out as if nothing could hurt him. I literally didn't see him against the background until my wife, noticing the movement, shouted "Steve, swerve right!" I missed him by inches. I turned towards her and said "Thank you!" when to my horror there was another! I missed him as well, praise God.
If Chokpa had dark clothing on, it is possible that the person didn't even see her. I know you are full of grief and anger but at least consider this; I was cold sober, focussed on my driving and still, because of the background, dark clothing and brown skin of the people in the road, almost completely unable to see them.
I am constantly thankful that I didn't plow some guy on his way to the store. Like Yvsa I came late to the thread, my heart was in my mouth until the good news. Poor girl, she has our sympathies and prayers. Thank God she wasn't struck by anyone else as she lay in the road.
Also fellow forumites, let's not forget to offer thanks for the good person who ccame to her aid.
