thats tough because I'd like to see micarta come standard as well as new and better sheaths. But between the two, I can live with the grivory. I will confess that my ESEEs get a lot more carry time because the BKT sheaths arent very good.

I went with A2 carbon steel. I don't need or want any different color coating, the handle materials that are available right now are as good as I've seen (love the canvas micarta just like it is), and the only sheath I have, with my BK-2, is as good a sheath as I've ever had on any knife. So there was only one choice.

Well....after all I have put my Ka-Bars and Beckers through they could offer it in a wide variety of steels and I'd still go with the 1095CV.

Optional A2 stainless steel - I like 1095, even in my humid environ
Different coating colors - Krylon... i don't need to accessorize.
Different handle material - Natural Micarta looks like a nice upgrade over just dandy grivory
Different sheath options - a close second for me, some different things might be good, but im ok on my BK-2 & 11 so far.
Gear and Kit options - Bingo. I'd like to see the Becker Quality applied to other things, not sure what, but Ethan is the genius not me! :D

Sorry for the A2 stainless steel flub. I was on the phone with the owner of Smoky Mountain R&D when I was posting this. Multitasking is hard to do sometimes.

So far, so good. Most of these options are things that me and some others have been discussing, so I wanted to get some feedback and stats. You never know what the future may hold. Thanks ya'll.

Different Handle material. I'm thinking something that is in line with the cost of the knife (aftermarket) or available as an option. If aftermarket, available through lots of different Dealers and Colored.

Think Micarta (Green, Natural/Tan) G-10 (Orange of course) etc.

IMO - Custom sheaths can be ordered or made by the owner
Steel - Why change when it is good and low cost
Gear - again, these kits can and are custom made

I would like to see a qaulity leather sheath (like mooses) or kydex with a tekloc.
Optional colors would be nice. Different handle material could be a plus. If all of these things happened it would change the best part of these knives, THE PRICE. I can add whatever I want If I choose to. But a special run of beckerhead knives would be cool, or a knife of the year would be nice. I guess I just like these knives.

Well, that's the first thing that will change with any new features, is the price. One of the reasons why there are not as many option for each blade, like ESEE, is the cost. Beckers are tough, reliable, and CHEAP. Most Beckers are under a $100 (Tactool is right at it or over depending on what you find), and you get a helluva lotta knife for your money. If any new features or limited runs, expect the cost to go up. Just sayin. Good stuffe, guys, I like the info. Keep it comin'. Moose

Voted for more handle choices, love the ergonomics of the handle but not huge on the plastic. I would love to see some more micarta, g10 or natural wood options.

Wow there were three on there that were a good toss up, handle material, sheath options and the kit/gear. I had to choose handle material, but color choices as well. G-10 or grivory.

To me, the knives are darn near perfect. Different handle material would be nice, but I wouldn't like to see the base cost go up. I'd really just like to see the micarta handle slabs go down a bit in price.

All I really want for Christmas is better sheath retention. I don't need a new sheath. Just better retention.

i voted for the steel upgrade, but i would like to see better sheaths as well.

1095 is good and A2 would be great but i was thinking 3V :D

Didn't vote because there was not an option for suggestions. The becker knives are about as good as it gets for the price. The only improvement, I would like to see would be a more durable blade coating like a tungsten DLC coating.

I voted for handle material.
factory micarta scales instead of having to pick then up aftermarket would be great.
gear is always a good thing, as would be a short run of S7 blades. (Bk9 w/micarta and S7 would be a grail kind of thing)
sheath - I can make my own.
color - krylon is my friend.

don't change a damn thing. Beckers are what they are, brutally tough, affordable edged tools. You cannot change classics.

nuff said.
:grumpy:
